Saudi is probably a safer place to live than the UK right now, in fairness. Most of the footballers going there live in the UAE/Bahrain and commute into Saudi. The biggest clubs have private jets for them to fly in on, totally different world for him there. £100k tax free and imagine he’s got a few...

Their combined net spend now over the last 5 seasons is £420m so yes this is a big window for them however they have been playing it safe for a good few years prior to this & built up plenty of headroom. Averages less than 90m a season over the last 5 years and our net spend this season is £80m and ...

59 years old. Just wow.
Unacceptable at all times but you sort of get it if it’s an uneducated young yob, but if you’re behaving like this at 59, you’re just a bad person.

His bargaining position may well be better after the window closes on Monday, free transfers aren’t tied to the transfer window and he may well get better offers if a club or clubs don’t get their required business done in time and are still needing reinforcements. The Saudi window is also open a li...

Good start for Boro, I think there’s a consensus they should have been making the playoffs last 2 years. Leicester, Cov, WBA, Bristol no real suprise and Brum have spent a small fortune. Awful start for Ipswich and Sheff - 10 points off automatic promotion & open dissent on the terraces is a disaster.

Weird if he's signed for them permanently but we're still paying him. It’s quite commonplace and something that often makes transfers drag on. It’s better to pay some wages of a player you’re never going to use rather than all of the wages of a player you’re never going to use, especially if you ca...

Hi JR1882,
My surprise is due to Championship clubs being broke.
I fully agree with you re. their fans. Every set of fans deserves its own ground.
More fruit from the magic money tree! Everyone’s broke but spending millions seemingly!

Basically sold Gyokores twice, some other good sales, bit of owner input.
Don’t begrudge them their own ground one bit, the supporters that is, been a tough 15 years all in all.

Given Humphreys can play LB very well, wouldn't you rather have Esteve in the middle? I think I'd rather our man mountain be central with Humphreys a bit more license to link up with Hartman.

Odd one, isn't it? Surely he's received offers but why hasn't he signed for anyone? Very, generally when a player leaves a club on a free (rather than the club not retain him) there is almost always something lined up, especially given that he will have had a very good offer on the table relative t...

How come other teams can play their signings straight away but the majority of ours are either injured or not match fit? That’s one of the differences last week, all their big signings started and we started with a championship 11. Granted our opposition was much tougher. Don’t wish to sensationali...

It will book up no problem, no decent hotel in the town centre and very few in the town at all.
Must be structurally sound to make a massive renovation cheaper than a rebuild but if that’s the case then fair play it will be a welcome addition.

The problem with the FAB is whilst it’s inclusive of all of these minority groups, the vast majority of matchgoing fans don’t fit into any of these groups, so it’s inclusive but it’s not representative.
I get the feeling they are just nodding dogs for the board, all just happy to be involved.

No, the company sold all the high street shops and only kept the ones in airports and train stations. Given the prices they charge in airports/stations I suspect it is is a profitable part of the business which is why they kept hold of them. The prices in airports just reflect.. - a captive audienc...

If we have no points by the end of October (not totally out of the question) do you think he will still be in a job? In practical terms Isak putting in a formal transfer request doesn't change anything in terms of Newcastle's standpoint
It means they don’t owe him a few million in loyalty bonus, which if they are going to accept below asking price will matter to them.

He'll sign for Liverpool AFTER the two sides meet on Monday night, Tuesday probably. It’s pretty much the same situation with Wissa at Brentford except ironically Newcastle are the buyers :D . Once that deal is over the line I think Isak will be off - all on deadline day probably in a big Jim White...

Why would submitting a transfer request nullify a contract. Is that something specific to football? Generally it’s written into contracts that by submitting an official transfer request you forgo any loyalty bonus that would be paid after the length of a contract, (or should the club decide to sell...

I’m in the B camp, HOWEVER if you say your player is worth £150m then you should be paying him the market rate wage for a player of that value, club can’t have it both ways.
Similar situation at Napoli with Krava a few years ago, saying Nile was worth £100m but paying him £20k a week.

Yep, and the commentary too. It’s all tinpot but it is what it is. ALL seem happy with it so.
