Re: England vs India Third test

Average wise - Cook Strauss averaged 40.40 as an opening batting pair. Duckett Crawley average 43.62 (51 innings). I suspect this might be something the selectors are looking at as well as pace of scoring. I agree that probably the reason he plays is because him and Duckett can score quickly….its a...

I wonder if Stokes will bowl first if he wins the toss in the next test? Well he was arrogant enough to bowl first on this flatbed of a wicket so who knows. There’s nothing wrong with putting the opposition in first providing you have the bowlers to back it up,which we haven’t. India have scored ov...

Triple ton from Sibley this week.
Dom Sibley is another one who had a chance at test level and looked out of his depth.
I guess if he keeps scoring like that though they will have to consider him, can’t be any worse than Crawley can he?

A batting average doesn't take into consideration what may be an anomaly, therefore its not a good representation of consistency. Which is what the other poster was trying to say when they removed his 267 from the average. https://thrimanne.medium.com/standard-deviation-vs-mean-deviation-to-measure...
