They’ll get eaten alive in Australia.
They won’t be facing the Aussies with this bowling attack though…hopefully anyway

Re: England vs India Third test

Average wise - Cook Strauss averaged 40.40 as an opening batting pair. Duckett Crawley average 43.62 (51 innings). I suspect this might be something the selectors are looking at as well as pace of scoring. I agree that probably the reason he plays is because him and Duckett can score quickly….its a...

I wonder if Stokes will bowl first if he wins the toss in the next test? Well he was arrogant enough to bowl first on this flatbed of a wicket so who knows. Triple ton from Sibley this week.
Dom Sibley is another one who had a chance at test level and looked out of his depth.
I guess if he keeps scoring like that though they will have to consider him, can’t be any worse than Crawley can he?

A batting average doesn't take into consideration what may be an anomaly, therefore its not a good representation of consistency. Which is what the other poster was trying to say when they removed his 267 from the average. https://thrimanne.medium.com/standard-deviation-vs-mean-deviation-to-measure...

I would have thought that his average, is his average..... I was merely pointing out the absuridty of taking out scores to fit a narrative.
Ok I will leave his 267 in…he averages 28,not good enough for an international opening batsman, that’s my narrative
