They're a pain but one positive is they do really help attendances at clubs way down the pyramid, they noticeably increase when it's an international break. Not that I imagine for a second that's what FIFA or the FA are thinking about.

It's a fairly big squad, and reasonably youthful. And for the Championship, it's an excellent squad. This isn't a criticism before anyone gets too senisitive. But there's only two players on there that another existing Prem club would be interested in - that's the scale of the task.

Anyone thinking that's a tough start is in for a shock. Last season, every team we're facing was better than our first 3 opponents, bar Wolves. It's the easiest start we could possibly have had.

That fact we're worried about it kind of says where we are.
