Beating Plymouth 2-1 under Waddle. Going back to the 4th division again would have been grim.

Re: Chris Wilder red card
I don't mind Wilder, he's much more of a knob when he wins than loses. But his behaviour is getting more erratic maybe. Getting smashed with the fans when they beat Wednesday, his meltdown at Plymouth and now this. He didn't used to be like this when he first did well, seems angry all the time now.

I can see how looking back on, say, Coyle's time with us can get the emotions going and wildly divide opinion. But Cotterill is like Howe for me.. fine, did ok. It's a struggle to summon up much more feeling than that.

Re: 26 seasons of pain
It's those late 90s, early 2000's ones that probably make it feel worse. Since they were bought by Abu Dhabi, I'd imagine a lot of clubs have a similar record to ours, certainly since Guardiola arrived there. The George Boyd winner is a favourite memory, and the 1-1 draw against one of the peak Man ...

At lower league grounds walls close to the pitch are very common and last year or year before I seem to recall a similar incident, thankfully not fatal. It'll happen again this season with them, they've not spent owt on that dump for years. They should be relegated down to a level more befitting their pitch. I see Chorley finished their game on the same day, so anywhere below them will do.

There’s never been a doubt Tresor has talent , but a cute 15 min cameo against a knackered div 1 defence, showing incredible selfishness not passing with an impossible angle , giving the ball away etc hardly shows the 2nd coming . However he appears clearly very capable at this level IF he can get ...

I'm fine with all this, everyone loves an LED display. It's going to make zero difference to my 'matchday experience' but it won't detract from it. I do kind of like how we're sticking so many shiny things on top of our fairly knackered old stadium. While it's true you can't polish a turd, you can c...

I think it would be good if the football club improved their offering to tempt people away from other establishments on matchday - such as the cricket club - rather than try to make it more difficult to use these traditional alternatives and hope fans therefore spend more money at the ground. You can't recreate those last 10-15 minutes now anyway. There'll be different players available through injury or suspension. Obviously the conditions will be very different. Blackburn won't be holding on after playing 80 minutes. Either leave it at 1-0 - although Ipswich would have a strong case fo...

You wonder how keen Prem clubs are on helping to stop this. They're selling memberships on the back of it, and getting high spending tourists into their grounds to replace 'legacy' fans. As a rule, they don't tend to put huge amounts of effort into stuff that'll reduce their revenue.

£500k is great business for Burnley. Good luck to the kid, but being a 'star' at 14 is still a long way from even making it as a pro at any level. As mentioned, John Cofie went for £1m and was never heard of again. Jamie Vardy was released into non-league at 16 by Wednesday's youth set up. Man City ...
