I agree with the sentiment but it’s hard to sell a lad on a 4 year contract on a decent wedge. If Dutch / Belgian football is his level very few of those clubs could afford him and why should he take a pay cut??? We gave him the contract. I say fair play to the club for getting the lad out on loan....

Wasn't there, didn't hear him but looking at some of the Italian names unless you speak the language you need to check on the pronunciation. I wouldn't expect him to master "Cancellieri" but there are enough online aids if you look for them.

This lad was just a vague name to me until the rumours began but the comments I've read including the Chelsea fans' remarks make me think we might just have bought a key player. A real unit who has PL experience, youth and what our defence will need in front of it.

Have just read the very sad news that Jorge Costa, former Porto and Portugal defender, has passed away at the age of 53. He was an old-fashioned CB who took no prisoners. Let's leave the lad to settle in there and show what he can do. I had hoped for L1 but if it means he can start matches then so much the better.

Some people might disagree but the fact the lad won't need to move (I've no idea where he lives but he won't need to change accommodation) is a bonus.
