Wow, probably England's greatest ever right back, you've got to be excited about that. Would be a massive boost to the players, just in case they need one.

Re: Competing at Prem level - Whats changed?
I think the problem is that because PL teams are so much stronger than they were 5, 10, 15 years ago the promoted teams need to spend a lot more money to have anywhere near enough quality to stay up. But that means signing loads of new players, disrupting the team who won promotion and expecting new...

Don't blame him. Strasbourg will be in Europe next season, maybe even Champions League, nice part of the world and he won't be getting battered most weeks (not a slight on us, just the nature of the PL these days).

Maybe it's some weird accounting trick. Defer the payment until next year and the books look different. I don't know if it applies to us but sometimes clubs do it to meet FFP rules.

Thanks, nice extra digging. I wonder why it calls out League One and Two clubs and not Championship, where it mentions the summer transfer window? Reckon I’ve figured it out, he signed for Bristol City on 5th August, they’d already played a game (the day before) by that point, so technically it’s not the ‘entire season’! We're going to have one of the two best squads in the division along with Leeds, so as long as we appoint a decent manager our chances of finishing top two or winning the play-offs are pretty good. I'd say promotion is more likely than not.

"we still managed to create chances"
Not particularly. 0.9 xG at home, compared to 1.5 xg for Everton. They had the better chances and deserved to win.
"the game was decided by the set plays"
And the first set play came after we gave the ball away playing out from the back. Again.

I think his best position is fairly deep but with the freedom to get forward a lot. Similar to Yaya Toure or Pogba.
In the PL that probably means playing him in a midfield three with two other players who can cover for him.

No Muric is a shame but apart from that I don't hate it. A midfield three of Brownhill/Berge/JBG could work with Brownhill as a ball-winner and the other two getting further forward. And having Rodriguez to play off might help get the best out of Amdouni. Cautiously optimistic.

I'd give him five games (until after Sheffield Utd on 2nd Dec) and if he's not within 3 points of safety I'd make the change.
I don't believe for a second it will come to that but if it does there's no point sticking with a failing manager because of what he did in the Championship.

We're still trying to be a passing team, we're just not good enough to do it in the PL where teams are more physical and press us rather than sit back.
Watch the first half today and we were clearly trying to pass it out from the back, it just didn't work at all.
