Re: Transfer window out of 10
I would say a decent window if not spectacular. Sold Trafford for a big fee and brought in a prem ready GK. Not got a lot a lot of value from a lot of the deadwood though. Think our net spend for the summer moves (excluding the obligations) would be around £40m so not bad business at all. Our signin...

I am extremely happy if Ramsey goes out on loan. Asking him to play in the prem straight after a massive layoff is a huge risk. Let him get some games under his belt and re-assess in Jan

Luis flying here tonight, deal almost fully complete: https://x.com/lucabendoni/status/1962145187519422538?s=46 Good news this. Will allow us to play different formations even more now in certain situations. Being greedy tomorrow - Luis in, plus a CB and a number 8/10? Try and get a few out on loan...

After the first rounds of games, early thoughts are that these teams are in the mix:
Burnley
Leeds
Sunderland
Brentford
Wolves
West Ham
Maybes (Forest and Brighton)
All the rest look understandably miles ahead at the moment

What I'll never understand is why the line isn't drawn from any part of the last defender? Let's say a striker is onto a through ball, the defender can take him out with any part of his body, even pull him back and get a yellow card (or red). They can even save a goal with their hands (and give away...

Re: Our best attacking midfielders
This was the most damning feature of the first half RV Claret I agree. So many times the ball was in the air, they either won a 50/50 or we won a header and they were first to the second ball. from there all it took was a neat bit of skill, a quick switch of play, and they were in. I thought we'd be...

Let's put it this way. I've watched 5 games recently: Burnley v Sunderland Fulham v Utd Newcastle v Liverpool Chelsea v Fulham Utd v Burnley The inconsistencies as to what is a foul and what isn't, what is a push, handball, careless etc, has MASSIVELY varied depending on the team in question. Re: THE SUPER CLARETS vs Man U - Match Thread
28 shots Utd had. We were way too open, hopefully the DM from Benfica will help. The most worrying thing about today was are total lack of marking from set pieces. So many times games are decided by set plays. If we don't rectify this we will go down easily.

The fact that he is playing for a smaller club is a pretty good indication that his levels have dropped. Just like his recent performances for England. Prime example of this is Scott Mctominay. Probably took a pay cut to go to Napoli, but he's just won the Scudetto and player of the season whilst being adored by fanatical fans and soaking up the sunshine in southern Italy. So if he is on 80k a year at Napoli and does this for 3 years. In 30 years t...

JBL doesn't look fully match fit to me yet. I think if you use the cricket analogy of "add a couple of wickets to the score", then if we lost a couple of players in key positions, where would we be light? The answer for me would be centre midfield, striker and Centre back. Although to caveat this, w...

He must have a hell of an agent.
He comes across as a bit introverted, and mumbles his words. The Brum documentary was a bit cringeworthy as well. How the hell he's had three managerial jobs is beyond me. Comes across as someone who wants to stay in the game but doesn't know what he's good at.

I think a lot of fans see we've signed 13 players and take it at face value. In fact we've signed 9 as 4 were in the side last season. Of those 9, 2 were replacements to players we've lost, so in reality we've signed 7 additions, which isn't too disrupting I don't think
