There's the well-told story of Denis Law golfing somewhere in Manchester on the day of the 1966 World Cup Final. After finishing the game, he was told England had won the World Cup ....as a proud Scotsman he replied "you've just ruined my day"!!

Not played in the 'top flight' since Tom Finney retired (1960) Must be hard to take that both Blackpool and Wigan have managed that. The latter with a FA Cup Final victory thrown in.
