Putting a positive spin on things we still seem to have a lot of Saturday 3pm kick offs which is certainly a relief. Not great for the diehards but live away games at Millwall, Bristol and Norwich will save the rest of us some cash!

Since he played every match for the team that finished second in the championship last season I’m pretty sure he will see himself coming here as no.1 next season.I can’t see Trafford staying here if someone is mad enough to pay £20m for him.

Had mine a couple of months ago and as in most cases the issue was a large polyp. Surprisingly little discomfort and a visit to the dentists is far worse. Well worth doing but looking at the inside of your bowel on an HD quality screen is certainly a strange sensation and not one for the squeamish.

Personally I hope VK fails miserably because that will prove last season was down entirely to his own arrogance and stupidity. I was another who caught the train to Liverpool on a number of occasions in 86/87 just to watch Trevor play for Everton. We were utterly dire and it was a welcome relief to watch the football he inspired them to play. If it hadn’t been for Heysal they would have dominated Europe.

It’s weird how opinions vary. Max Rushden and Charlie Baker on TalkSPORT on the Saturday morning were talking about how brilliant we looked playing out from the back and taking the fight to CIty. I thought that was a little exaggerated but we were certainly not woeful.

The Planet Football website for one lists the wages paid for 22/23 and Everton are 12th with 43m. No idea how accurate these figures are but they do allow a comparison between different clubs.

On a wage bill comparison Benfica’s latest salary figure was £41m so on a par with Everton and certainly more than we will be paying.it’s fair to say they get better value for money than the Toffees. Leicester paid nearly £80m in wages to get relegated!

For comparison on the Ai scout website the transfer value for Benfica’s starting lineup was €237m and for ours €30m. It was a hell of a win and I am adopting the Rowls approach. Pickles is a man after my own heart. Clitheroe beat their u-21s 4-0 recently. I would love to see the first team lose by the same amount. Having said that most of the Rovers fans I knew in 87 wanted us dead as a club not non- league so a Bury scenario would not be too upsetting. We can but hope.
