Re: Leeds appreciation society
Vincent Kompany arrived in June and had 2 months pre-season to recruit and develop his squad. The owners were so impressed by his arrival that they gave him virtually a free hand with regards to transfers. He was able to attract a good number of good, young players, money seemed to be readily availa...

Re: A well earned rest.
Saturday’s low-key FA cup fixture against lower league opposition came as a huge bonus for Scott Parker. Apart from giving his entire first team 2 weeks rest and preparation time for the important game against Sunderland, it enabled him to give game time to most fringe players/ to introduce new sign...

There were two other things that I noticed about MT on Saturday (apart from his speed of thought for the 2nd goal and the hug with his manager on introduction to the game). 1. He was heavily mobbed by his teammates for the assist. Much affection and genuine pleasure on display, so he is clearly a po...

Re: A well earned rest.
It’s great that we have a full team of “fringe” players that should see off Reading.
This gives us a very, very good break to fully prepare for a vital home game against an impressive Sunderland, who meanwhile will have to get past a stubborn Stoke side to progress in the FA Cup.

They don’t all need a rest agreed, but it might be more a case of avoiding unnecessary injuries and/or risking any potential transfer exits.

The team for Reading will be interesting - it could look like this:
Hladký
Sonne/ Worrall/ Egan/ Pires
Agyei/ Laurent (capt)/ Massengo/ Koleosho
Foster/ Rodriguez
Bench to include:
Barnes/ Ekdal/ Hountondji

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
About a month ago in one of Parker’s interviews he singled out Koleosho and Trafford as two ‘young players with enormous potential’. No one else just those two, which struck me at the time as an invitation to potential buyers. I now think that this may have been the manager’s way of testing the mark...

Foster, Ramsey = a few weeks away ( must mean new year) Benson behind them. Scott bigging up Trafford and Koleosho (hopefully not with a view to the January window) 3 centre halves getting game time. No news on Lord Lucan.

Re: What's the secret to the success of our defence this season?
Here’s my take, The first 5 games were challenging and took us to the end of August i.e. the end of the transfer window. During that time we played Luton (perceived as a likely promotion rival). Cardiff ( trying to play expansive football). Sunderland + Leeds (who have both proved to be top Champion...

Colin McDonald a Claret legend through and through and one of the best keepers ever. He is one of the reasons that I have always passionately followed BFC (from afar) and I still have a copy of Football Monthly, which features him on the front cover.
I wish him a very, very happy birthday.
