I remember him coming on for the 2nd half in our home game and was surprised at his size and physique. Looked pretty good and caused us a few problems. Whether he could step up to the Prem would be my concern and he wouldn't be particularly cheap.

I gave up my season ticket after relegation last season but nothing to do with that or the football on offer. As I said, it was related to a personsal issue but I am now very glad to have a new season ticket and looking forward to going on again.

Really saddened to hear this. A through and through Claret all be it with a pretty short career with us. Seem to remember him scoring a great volley away at Carlisle to get us a 2 all draw in the cup 82 / 83 season and we won the replay at the Turf. 2 fab cup runs that season and got relegated back ...

So sorry to hear this. I lost my brother Andy Broadley in March this year. They were a similar age and we knew Steve going back to the 80's both on the Long side and away trips. Quite a few of us from Clitheroe and Ribble Valley used to go on together or meet up. Dave, Andrew, Matt and his brother M...

There were a great group of comics from that era. George Roper, Joss White, Colin Crompton and who could forget Ken Goodwin. Daft as a brush but extremely funny. Bernard M a favourite too but his style just wouldn't be accepted today.

For me Vydra and Jay both need to start next game. Vydra has more pace and guile than Wood. He did more in his late introduction tonight than Wood did all night. I don't want to knock Wood and Barnes but they both appear to be out of form at present.

Yes, very good point could easily have lost that but didn't play too badly. Dogged defence with one or two chances for us. We would have taken 4 points from 2 very hard away games this last few days before kick off so a good return overall.

I know the game has moved on but our neighbor's down the M65 won the league in 95 playing 4 4 2. 2 strong forwards, 2 hard tackling midfielders and 2 wide men given every licence to get forward as much as possible and deliver the ball into the box, not defend and turn backwards and sideways.
