Re: The Orient game - Highlights

Was working in Coventry, couldn’t get to the Turf so killed time by going to Highfield Road as Cov City celebrated going to the FA Cup Final. Absolute torture, couldn’t stand the euphoria around me so drove round the ring-road about 10 times with car radio on. My dad was on Longside, can still remem...

Re: ARG v FRA - 2022 World Cup Final

just on way back from the final, absolute gridlock as today is National Day in Qatar. That aside, great tournament and the best final in my lifetime (watched 66 as a five year old) Players being fit and fresh definitely made a difference. Went to 15 games, never had an issue, safest tournament ever.

Re: WC - Anyone going?

I have been a Claret living in Doha since 2018. Weather in November-December is fantastic, there will be no issues with heat. You can get a beer no problem ( not cheap!) and it’s the safest place I’ve ever been. Stadia are amazing, get yourselves here!!!

Re: First World Cup memories

Me “Dad why are they cheering?” Dad “ The Irish dont like the English” Me “why not?” Dad “I’ll tell you later” First introduction to bein...

Re: Your memories of this day eight years ago at Wembley

Family reunion at Euston Station bar, kids, sister, all in claret and blue. Wade's goal will be forever the most important I had seen since Waldron's at Deepdale. Duff running round exuberantly filming the Claret hordes in raptures, feeling of being emotionally drained as we left the stadium. Starvi...
