It’s problematic, but all the main football news and content remains on X. If that’s where most fans are still going to engage with football, it’s not hard to understand why the club have chosen to partner with them to increase exposure. There’s no bigger demonstration of the quandary than The Athle...

Re: UEFA European Women's Championship

I'm evaluating it on its own merits, and it simply doesn't justify this level of hype or platform. Countless exceptional women athletes and sports receive far less promotion, and that shootout was laughably amateur. It’s “platform” is probably based on the fact that female football is now the most ...

I’m not remotely interested in the fortunes of Espanyol and the social media love-in currently taking place between the two sets of fans is frankly bizarre. Seems to be the school of thought in the Spanish media that Espanyol will be the longer term senior partner in this deal which fills me with nothing but dread.

Chris Wood cost us £15m back in 2017. He was also 25 at the time and had very little Premier League experience.

As I said above, if the club genuinely believe he can deliver for us in the top flight, £20m doesn’t seem that big a gamble 8 years later.

If Esteve and Trafford did go, you’d have to expect the club to sanction a few deals that broke our transfer record, either to replace them or strengthen elsewhere.
