Re: Summer transfer window
Pope was consistently number 1 at claiming aerial balls from corners/crosses when he was with us. Not sure if any truth in it, but would say a 'safe pair of hands' is far more important for a team like ours, than one that can play out from the back.

I'm not worried if Sargent goes to Wolfsburg for 16m. That's the type of money we can afford, so if we've not got him then it's because we've got a better option. The club know more than anyone that we need a new CF.

It could also be that he simply hasn't got back to required standard/fitness needed to play for the first team. Also if there have been any attitude problems, it doesn't set a great example if he is takes bench spots instead of others.

Re: Attack attack attack !
No doubt we're not creating as much as we want and clearly we'd love to score more, but we also needed quite a few moments of magic in the VK season, Benson scoring at least 3-4 worldies to win games. We have also been very unlucky in terms injuries with attacking talent. I'm confident we'll start t...

Re: Attack attack attack !
The football isn't great, but we're playing for fine margins. If we had nicked a goal in two of those 10 0-0s we'd be top of the league. If we'd have been offered this on the first day of the season I'm sure 99% of people would have snapped the hand off. I'm sure bit of patience and all will be well...

Re: Burnley vs The Mackems - MATCH THREAD
I thought first half was one of our best starts. Moved it nicely, got down the wings well but didn't create anything too clear cut. Flemming should have had a pen. Really liked Foster off the left. Thought second pen was rash challenge and we'd have wanted one if we were on receiving end. Overall go...

I'd say definitely use one. Most brokers don't require fees from you, they get paid directly from the banks if you go with them. I wouldn't pay the broker anything directly. From our experience, they have the ability to plug your numbers into all the systems at different banks and also have relation...

It's heartbreaking to watch happen - but unfortunately when you have a manager like Kompany that can sell a player the dream of world class development and playing in the prem, very hard to keep them once both of those have gone. Most of those leaving have only been with us 1-2 years, no loyalty to ...

The goal was sickening but on the balance of play a draw was probably a fair result - particularly first half. Luton know how to play against us. There are easiest games for us than Luton. The net amount we've spent is a very large sum, but as many have said all the fees are within the region that they shouldn't be too hard to get at least 80/90% of what we paid should we go down. Personally not devestated that we haven't broken the bank to sign Maatsen - he was fantastic for us, but his biggest strenght was often going forward and next year we're far more likely to be on the back foot. He'll do really well for Chelsea/team that has the ball a lot more.

Sometimes you need to buy assets when they become available even if not necessarily needed right now. If we think he's going right to the top, and is available now - then makes sense. Doing a fantastic job in a team walking the league, against mostly pretty average championship CFs. Can't wait to see how he (hopefully) gets on against the prem best.
