tbh at lot of clubs allow season tickets to release their seat for a game they cant make it to for whatever reason for some sort of reward. Would make sense from the clubs point of view if they did allow this and resold the seats - as empty seats in effect cost money ( extra refreshments, club shop ...

Schalke 04 for me for no other reason than they got huge crowds in the 1970s / 1980s when they weren’t very good Saw them once in front of 71,000 at their old ground (Park Stadion?) in the derby at home to Borussia Dortmund in the mid 90s.
