Someone mentioned the Salvation Army going round pubs selling Warcry. They also sold a paper/comic for kids called The Young Soldier. Had a few puzzles and jokes in it. My dad used to bring it home for me, Haslingden late 50s and early 60s. Anyone else remember it?

Hannibal is mental. Outside the Dyche/Parker he asked a fan to throw something up to him - it was a live flare which he caught and waved around. Just watched a video of it and when the flare went out he looked into it to make sure it was finished :o

Leon-C mentions a few hotel courses above, Carden Park, Herons Reach , etc. if you’re looking for that sort of place, which do so,e really good deals, then I would recommend Hawkestone Park near Shrewsbury. Two good courses.

I remember in the early 70’s when we brought in Tony Waiters who had been out of the game for a few years. It was the first season of the backpass rule but he obviously wasn’t aware of it as he simply picked up the first backpass he received. :D

I’m a big Buddy Holly fan but the Rolling Stones version of Not Fade Away is much better.

A song I always thought was an original was Denis Denis by Blondie but it was first recorded by Randy and the Rainbows. Blondie version is much better.

When I lived in Haslingden in 50’s and 60’s there was a dentist who used hypnotism to sedate his clients before filling teeth or whatever. Glickman was his name. He wasn’t my dentist so I cannot verify it but it was common knowledge at the time.
