Yes I remember the Stockport game ..made my first visit to Palmerston Park the following day .... those were the days when lower petrol prices and admission charges made such weekends possible
Northampton game would have been March 17th ..very apt for Mr Caughey

Caughey didnβt score for us but had one really good game playing on the right against Northampton He did indeed ... I think it was a night match and on reflection my memory was of him lashing a shot against the bar ..he was that bad the shock must have thrown my memory for a moment π we won 2-1 pro...

The one thing that might change the vote is when the current bottom three - particularly the squealing Villa & Bournemouth - realise they will go down if it doesnβt restart. Yes very true if I was in charge of a bottom three club surely you'd want to take your chance on the pitch...Any other method...

That bottom six only need one club to support them and the league wonβt get re-started.
Indeed and at the moment I think that might just happen ... vote later in the week not tomorrow ?

I second that motion, easy to implement too,6 down = top 6 in the Champ up.This might well lead to a rapid change in tune from the bleating bottom 6,like many others i'm growing tired of their constant excuses to not restart the season. And effectively attempting to hold the remaining 14 clubs to ran...

The ground was less full than for the two Blackpool games in 90-1 and 91-2 and definitely not as packed as the Wrexham game..17600 seemed like 35000 after we'd been playing to @2000 most weeks. I used to stand on the longside roughly in line with the Bee Hole 18 yard line and for most of that season...

August 1982- May 1990 was a dreadful period in our history save for the Cup runs in 82-3 and going to Wembley in 1988. The Orient game was surreal I honestly don't remember that much of it now probably because I spent most of the game looking at my watch . I remember thinking if the 15k or so who su...

My Mum's Dad would be hanging his ARP helmet up for the last time, and no doubt enjoying a puff on his pipe. My Dad, his sister and my Gran, would be remembering my Granddad, L/cpl 2585547 Royal Signals, died in the Coventry bombings in July 1943. My Gran was 35 at the time, and passed away in 1993...

Excellent read ... over the years I've quite often got to know things about the club just by living in certain parts of town where you would meet players and their families ...these days I'm even closer to the dressing room but I don't ask much and expect to be told even less π Whatever we might thi...

Interesting stuff. In my honest opinion: if they are not making it into the first team squad by 20 they never will. I don't know the players, but that's pretty much how it goes. The Alex Elder thing was interesting. Of course the reserves in his day were what we now call squad members who spend so ...

I get a bit of stick for not shopping in Aldi or Lidi to be honest . Now the way i see it i like certain brands so happy to pay for it simple really .
