Re: League Cup 2nd Round Draw
Probably he wouldn't. On the other hand, would he want to send a message to the players that they are going to spend all season struggling and playing a midweek match against a lower league team is too tough for them? Yes, but my post was relating (at the time), to someone wanting us to play Rovers...

Re: League Cup 2nd Round Draw
Focus on the PL? We have 11 matches to play in the next 3 months. I doubt that any of our players will be in need of rest after that schedule. You could look at it that way, but do you really think that Scott P would want another tough match and to play his best team in the same week that we play S...

I never attend a game 'expecting' anything but I do go 'hoping' for a good performance/ victory. A win at Preston on both occasions last season was always possible and certainly not a 'ridiculous' notion. Not sure why you replied to me. I had the misfortune of working with loads of band wagon jumpers in the nineties when Walker was throwing his money around, for me the more times we can beat them the better. Re: League Cup 2nd Round Draw
Why, just why?
Surely with the tough fixtures we have coming up, the last thing we need is that sort of distraction?
And just imagine the outcry on here if Parker were to focus on the PL - as he should, and a much weakened team were to collapse as we did at PNE last year.

Re: Annual Burnley ice cream outrage
Just parked up at Boundary Mill
At the kiosk - in the window there, there’s a large board - about a metre high- with coloured pictures of all the ice creams
You can read it easily at +10 yards distance, and the prices are clear
A cone or tub is £1.50 or £2 with a flake.

I'm not sure what people want to happen. Everyone seems to complain about it, it's a private enterprise that has paid for a pitch. They could charge a tenner a lolly if they wanted. Nobody, including the council can dictate their prices. It's free enterprise. Surely if the enterprise has obtained a...

Desperately need a right sided centre half and a midfielder capable of scoring a few goals. I though our right sided centre half was a level above most of the rest. Reminds me of when we signed Tony Waiters. How? Tony Waiters retired - having had a very successful career - in 1967. His most recent club had been Blackpool who were not a top club. In 1970 our first choice - Peter Mellor - got injured and somewhat surprisingly we brought Waiters out of retirement...

There are really only two types of players: Those on an upward trajectory and those who are on a downward trajectory. But we have a better batting line up then them which doesn't happen often, so you have a chance. Not much to choose between 2 relatively poor batting sides (by historic test standards I mean) They have Smith, Head and Labuschagne who are likely to score well. Others capable of contributing. tbh - I found the Lords test to be the most engrossing when batters had to be more circumspect and England's scoring rate was around 3 an over. Jamie Overton has been added to the squad. Unfortunately this underlines the current dearth of high quality seam / pace bowlers in county cricket. Is Overton a good bowler? Pant sustained a genuine injury but was able to bat, but didn't field
Bashir sustained a genuine injury but was able to bowl, but didn't field.
That's the rules nowadays. Seems pretty reasonable to me, but even if you disagree you can't argue that one side got preferential treatment.

10 minutes was great.
Back in the day a 7.30 evening kick-off ended at 9.10 which suited everyone - especially those who had to be at school the following day.
Of course we didn't have VAR and all the other various delaying tactics that we have today, so "added time" was usually minimal.
