I totally agree with the comments above about "clear and obvious". Just scrap it. If VAR thinks the on-field decision is wrong just overrule it.
Also whilst they are at it scrap the referee going to the monitor.

It was Jimmy Mac next door. Jimmy Adamson lived on Springwood Road at the top of Brunshaw before moving to the bottom of Scott Park. Can't remember the name of the road but there houses looked straight onto the park. Just looked it up - it's Western Avenue at the bottom of Scott Park. No road at th...

I think I can live without Maatsen-he would not be the answer to the defences lapses we have made this season. On the other hand Tella could well have been a handful and exposed a few defences of teams we have played, and allowed Foster even more freedom. He is the one we have missed Agreed. I woul...

Just to add to how serious Costa Rica is about wildlife and conservation, they are the first country to ban all photographs of people and wildlife together on the same photo. Even a selfie with wildlife in the background is an offence. The guides take it all very seriously as well.

I went on a 15 day wildlife tour with Explore Holidays in March. Probably a bit too much travelling but thoroughly enjoyed it and got to chill out at a small beach resort at the end for a few days. Stopped in some quite remote places, saw Resplendent Quetzals when we stayed at a lodge in a cloud for...

I said before the game that we would miss Jay defensively.
Not his biggest fan but playing Barnsey from the start or bringing him on at half time would have helped our obviously weakness in defending their corners and set peices.

I actually thought the most disappointing thing about Roberts this season was his quality on the ball. If we’re looking for a LEFT side centre back to cover Mee then it might be advisable to target left footed players. Personally I think we have a ready made player to cover for Ben. Charlie Taylor could easily make the same move that Ben did a few years ago and could prove to be even better than Ben.

Just as I said on another thread when they have had their PCR test they should then isolate. They should not then be going training or mixing. Seems like very poor Covid management to me by Watford for which they should be held to account.

Although in this case the linesman may have gone awol it can happen that ref is too far away to make a decision (which can happen with a long pass) or has his view obscured. In those cases it would seem to be a simple improvement to allow the ref to inform VAR and let them make the decision. IE not ...

Don't players have GPS trackers on the backs to provide their running stats? Surely these could be linked. So at the time the ball is kicked the location of every player would be known. Obviously some adjustment would have to be made to allow for the fact that a defender would be going forward and a...
