Re: Name the most obscure Burnley player
Wayne Dowell I used to play at the Thompson Centre for Junior Clarets as was and in about 1993 we were all very excited to be told that a couple of Burnley players were coming along to watch us and give out awards. Re: Name the most obscure Burnley player
Phil Gray is one I always find weird. We signed him on a free after we got promoted in 2000 (and I remember being impressed that we had a FULL, current Northern Irish international playing for us - how times have changed!) and he scored on his debut away at Bolton in our first game in the Championsh...

To the point further up about 'supporting' Espanyol (an alien concept to me, a Burnley fan, who frankly couldn't care less about any other club), just an immediate thought on my mind... Playing devils advocate, if the two clubs are entirely managed separately and not reliant upon each others success...

Re: Pace/ALK set to buy Espanyol?
I think Burnley will remain the priority to ALK so long as we are in the Premier League due to the money that generates. The issue is when (not if) we drop out of it again. If we are not financially supported at that point in time as the priority entity, bouncing back at the first opportunity may no...

Re: Cricket field stand
A corner stand to attach the CF and Longside in some manner would really improve the atmosphere I think if it could be boxed in effectively. I’m sure the more likely scenario is that whatever such a stand could be it would predominantly focus on corporates.

I just hope it's permanent this time. I don't want to sound defeatist but IF we were to go down, he would be absolutely class and probably stick about. I was disappointed we didn't grab him last summer but that was probably difficult after Kompany left.

I'd prefer JBL to Odobert - he'd be our player for a start assuming it's a permanent this time. He was our top scorer in that awful season and was effective, even if he also had some anonymous games. The American chap on Twitter who mentioned Sargent had already been to meet with Burnley a few days ago (and he apparently has a good track record with US Mens players) reckoned we just had to agree a fee with Norwich and that was done.
He's my guess, on that basis.

I’d take Sargent all day long. He’s done the business three years running in a pretty average Norwich side, he’s had a bit of a taste of the Premier League before when only 20/21, scored a few in the Bundesliga and a regular for the US, still only 25, a proper Number 9 who has a bit of everything to...

There is no logic to selling Esteve - I highly doubt we would even if the interest was there. The player seems sound about saying, he’s contracted till 2029 so his value will maintain (or increase) next summer. Wilson on a one year deal is a no brainer, in my opinion. I was underwhelmed and prior to Burnley I’d always thought Parker was boring, arrogant and a bit off.
Putting aside his outstanding on field performance - I couldn’t have had the measure of the man himself more wrong. A true gentleman that I’m really proud to have managing my club.

Am I going over the top by suggesting this is as big, or arguably bigger due to the fact he’s still performing at the highest level both domestically and internationally, as Wright and Gascoigne? Ok, yes, not as showy because he’s a right back, but it’s certainly of that stature in my eyes.

Clearly it’s Jimmy Glass, has to be. For me though? It has to be Ian Moore away at Bradford in 2004 - the only injury time goal which has resulted in me somehow being 5 rows lower by the end of the celebrations (we were going down without a doubt in my opinion).

Feels like a concerted effort to bring in pace, power and height this summer on the basis of signings made and links seen. That was a key issue in our last attempt at this level, in my opinion.
I want to see the same sort of profile coming in up front - I believe that is key.
