Re: Trafford
He’s not better than Muric. He is a development player and should be used as such. Can’t believe how easily the good things of last season were so easily thrown over board. Muric, Brownhill, Taylor. Also in the transfers. Throwing 15 mio on Berge but not paying this for Tella who was the best attack...

Getting what we deserve. Naive recruitment, unbalanced squad and naive tactics. This is going to take a complete reset to save this season.

Re: Clarets v Spurs Match Thread
Spent 100 mio and have to play CB’s as full back, can’t explain that. Also haven’t seen anything that justifies the nr 1 spot for Trafford above Muric. The first goal was quite soft. Berge also not doing better than Brownhill. Very disappointing start of the season so far.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Berge was a mismatch for Sheffield. He likes to play the ball on the deck, fast movement passing style. His neck was hurting watching balls flying over at Bramall lane. He was never really happy there, signed when they were mid table PL team and things soon went sour after he signed. I think he will...

isn't Flemish/Dutch very similar (if not the same?) Anyway, slightly worried about how much he knew about Palace and not sure Palace fans will agree with him that they are over achieving to be 12th and not in the bottom three It’s like Scottish and English. Kompany watching a game at Westalo tonight I hope it’s for Tresor who is playing against Westerlo tonight but Belgian press states it’s for Foster. https://www.hln.be/belgisch-voetbal/en-plots-duikt-vincent-kompany-op-in-het-kuipje-burnley-coach-komt-quasi-incognito-westerlo-speler-scouten~a2648b33/

Seems a good thread to ask our Belgium based Clarets, and those generally who watch a bit of the Pro League... who's standing out over there? Who may Kompany have his beady eye on? Fair to say it's been a fruitful place for us so far. Prospects in the pro league that are premier league material: Du...

One of the most biased refereed games I have seen. Clear handball not given, several clear fouls not given and 8’ extra time.

1 striker and 1 big center half (Egan?) signing and you must say it was a great window. Promotion favourites I say.

Not a fan of this. I miss a vintage white with claret-blue trim away shirt and a yellow third with claret trim. Very happy with the home shirt though.

Do we think the cash is running out as we search for the missing bits of the squad jigsaw in the next9 days or so. If not what do we think is left in the pot to spend Bidding for the 2 Metz players and for the Rotherham lad so should be at least about 10mio in the transfer kitty still to spend. A s...

There was another poster on this thread who lives in Belgium, can’t remember the username, not Belgianclaret this time, who said he’s a very good player and just the type of striker we need. Re: Thoughts on the first 5 games
I totally agree with the style of play but you need to mix it up more and know when it’s time to play more direct when the game requires it like at the end of the 1st half against Blackpool and the start of the second half. Otherwise you get found out too easy and make it easy for opponents. There w...

Could he do it in the Championship, though? I think enough players have shown that if you can excel in Belgian pro league you can make it in the championship (Cullen, Berge, Dennis) some even in the PL like Trossard, Origi, Benteke. Just a few examples but there are many. Some players need settling...

I saw on insta that we’re linked with Mikautadze, striker from Metz who spent last 2 seasons on loan at Seraing. He is exactly what is missing. Clinical finisher and someone who can make chances on his own. Technically superb, goes past defenders with ease and scored easily.

Not a rumour but if Antwerp are messing us around and we’ve reached the top figure we are prepared to go, I’d be switching my attention to Bowler at Blackpool, championship experience, young, exciting and an asking price of 3-4million, ticks all the boxes for me. I have to contradict you. I think we made them look that bad, it wasn’t a case of them being bad. And this is always the way. When the other team literally can’t get the ball off you, there is little they can do. It doesn’t matter if they kick, fight, be physical, long ball short ball or whatever, ...

Will be a good test. Luton are well organized and a typical championship side in terms of physicality. However, nothing to be afraid of if the players reach the same level of Friday. Then it will be a comfortable win. Just need to be a little more clinical in front of goal. Replacing Costello by Rod...

If anyone thinks we are way ahead of the others then I’d be waiting a few weeks. We will play far better teams than Huddersfield and we will come up against much stronger teams. In the case of Cornet I still don't understand why he isn't fit and why he hasn't been integrated into the training. Is he being frozen out just because he may leave? My son was equally disappointed. I find pretty poor that the kids shirts (11/12 and 13/14) were sold out on day one really. And the goalkeeper kits (even the home one) are being launched separately. Quite confident the Clarets will be top 4. I have been following the EFL last season and there is not a lot of quality. And the quality has dropped further. Biggest threat will come from teams like Millwall and Sheffield who play aggressive and have big physical players who score from set pieces and...
