Agreed. There seems to be a numbers of posters obsessed that we need to play a ‘10’. There are other teams that play 3 in midfield without a ‘10’.

If we were linked with Mikautadze, you’ve got to think that we’re in for another forward….

Centre half, midfielder (hopefully Luis) and another forward/number 10 required - 3 players. All need to be better than we currently have. No need for squad fillers - we’ve got a big enough squad already!

Why can’t all 3 of them play together? Look at Newcastle, for example. Their midfield 3 are considered ‘number 8’ but they all play in the same team.

Will be interesting to see how he does. Hopefully he gets a lot f game time and someone can coach some sort of improvement.

For large parts today the team didn’t look well enough drilled in this shape and some layers looked a little lost and confused as to where they needed to be. Too many weren’t involved enough and completely ineffective. Hopefully a back four next week.

So because Ekdal played a poor pass to Hannibal (who wasn't in a position to receive the ball, while better options were available to Ekdal) its Hannibals fault. Come on now... First half ok. We are very pedestrian, though. Lazio much better at retaining the ball than we are. We can sometimes make it look like it’s quite hard work to keep the ball.

Where are you getting those figures for Broja from?

The only figure that’s been out there up until now is ‘£20m deal’. I appreciate that’s the overall package but haven’t seen anything on social media quoting the £10m or £15m mentioned above.

Not sure about that. I’d say we are much stronger defensively now which is the basic foundation on which any form of successful season (for us) would be built on. We had a more flair and a better attacking set-up last time, but that was always likely to be exposed in a league several levels above. ...
