It's a shame Bobby Seith was never capped for Scotland. If he had been Burnley would have the oldest surviving England and Scotland internationals. Bobby still knocking around at 93.

Colin McDonald is the oldest surviving England International Footballer. The second oldest is not Brian Douglas but former West Ham player Ken Brown, who is 3 months older than Brian.

Clive had 114 first class wickets at 36 each. Haslingden were lucky to have him and then Dennis Lillee as professionals in the space of a few seasons. Another odi on today, but it is England v West Indies ladies. England batting first 29-0 off 7.

Burnley have been singing it from at least the 1950s, if not before. Blackburn Rovers fans maybe started singing it in the 1980s or thereabouts.

There was a thread on this tβother week. Never heard over the tannoy to my knowledge. As I remember it first heard in the 72-73 season as Wild Rover. Later that season it evolved into Blackburn Rovers. I canβt put a date to itβs current version. We canβt use it now as our neighbours come out to it....

Scrooge 1935 with Seymour Hicks was on a couple of days ago, and A Christmas Carol 1938 , with Reginald Owen was on a couple of weeks ago. Both were on Talking Pictures. Love them both. A Christmas Carol , 1984 with George C Scott was also on the other day.

Burnley could hardly get any players capped, even when they were flying from the late 50s to the mid 60s. Brilliant players like Jimmy Adamson never getting capped, and other players just getting one or two caps

Charlie Shepherd was born in Burnley in 1970. Super Featherweight boxer. He was British Champion and won an I BO World Title, but he was living in Carlisle when he was boxing.
