I worked at Safeway from opening as a Saturday lad, it had automatic opening doors and families on opening day often went back out to see the doors open again. I would pack groceries into a stiff paper bag at the tills, we were told to offer to carry out groceries or offer to, The manager was Canadi...

I copied the comments to Gary. I see Gary when I DJ at the Tower, norther soul, I leave my car on his drive, definitely had a soft spot for Burnley, ot was great when he took on the Saturday night soul programme and he was gutted to be moved out in the recent BBC reorganizing thing, very upset after all those years of service.

I knew Gary Hickson He was a Salford lad and a Man Utd supporter he had a passing interest in Blackpool because that was where he lived. Gary Hickson was really good at being impartial, but his actual preferred team, even though he wasn’t a fervent supporter, was Blackpool. He did used to enjoy Burnley fans’ contributions to the phone in, though, as we were normally the most vocal and contributed the most to his show. Spot on, I tal...

Who did Gary Hickson actually support, does anyone know? I always got the impression it was Preston with how he spoke about them (and....us) during that sort of 99-2005 period. He was a good presenter in spite of the fact it felt very much like he was enjoying Burnley mostly being pretty underwhelm...
