Re: New Stadium

I always thought this was an overly complicated discussion. There is room to add about 10-12 rows to the Bob Lord on the current footprint, either by adding on to what is there or knocking it down and building a new stand. You could probably squeeze a couple more if they lowered the pitch too, which...

Re: Question for the Mathematicians

And this is why we tell our students to not trust ChatGPT. It can convince you it is right when you don’t know the answer. The Monte Carlo would result in about 1.6% and give a close enough response. The clock patience is an error but it is another form of solitaire. In this problem, it is just a fi...

Re: Question for the Mathematicians

Odds change for each card drawn. If the first 4 cards are 2s then the odds on the next card drop to 1 in 12. If they were 2x2s, a 3 and a 4. Different again. 3x2 and a king. Different again. I can’t see anyway there could be one answer before the first card is drawn but I’m not a mathematician. Wha...

Re: Question for the Mathematicians

IMG_6415.jpeg It’s still early here but it should be something like this. Will check my maths once I’ve had a coffee. If you assume that the deck has been shuffled and that there is a random permutation of the 52 cards at play then you can calculate this. I saw some comments about awareness of the ...

How bad is this pitch? Looks like a high school pitch in the 1980’s.

At first, Bumba was hurting my head with his ‘logic’, but I’ve moved through that now and I’m just enjoying laughing at it.

Thanks for sharing the gunners thread.

Re: Clean sheet record

Well, not exactly, but I see why you would say that. However, you can’t finish 4th, 5th, and 6th in the same season. So, based on your 20 year timeline, finishing 3rd results in promotion 45% of the time and is 9 times more likely to result in promotion than 6th. You have a 30% and 20% chance of pro...

Re: International fans.

We are in Indiana, USA. Dad and I still manage to watch all the games just like we used to when I grew up in England. Glad for the tv coverage over here but it’s not the same as surviving the cold in the stadium and eating the pies!

Re: O/T........EVs

I’ve had an EV9 for the past year and it has been great. I do 140 miles round trip 2-3 days a week and charge at home. Around town it will get about 330 miles on a full charge which goes down to about 260-270 on the motorway. In the winter when it is really cold that drops to about 210-240 ( dependi...

Haven't found another Claret out here in Southern California - yet - only been here since 1985 though, so there's time.
I lived there 12 years but am now in Indiana.

Does anybody know how this Southampton lineup compares to their normal Prem lineup?
I had a quick look. I think it is 7 starters from the Ipswich game.

I think it’s 7 starters from their last PL game.

Our mostly B team is comfortably handling their mostly A team. That’s a good sign for if we get promoted.

Re: Whyte & mackay

Sometimes neat, sometimes rocks, depends on my mood and the scotch. As someone said above, there is no one way to drink it and some blends can be enjoyable too - each to their own and how they enjoy it. I bought a 25 year Macallan once and really didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would (there’s...

Not sure about blends, but I’m enjoying a glass of Macallan this evening.

Here’s to a big win tomorrow!
