Prince's Salmon paste sandwich, the wife is away and I can't be arsed.
Know the feeling! I've been left alone for a month. Clearing the freezer of old McCain chips that are a block of ice! Plus fish fingers and some healthy stuff out of the greenhouse.
Bon appetit all

I usually step short of critical commentary because I follow the ball and I don't read the game as well as many people who better understand what goes on off it. Laurent a prime example last night. And I would sometimes be guilty of lack of objectivity in rating players who I really want to see do w...

if I've done the maths right, which admittedly I might not have done, playing each team once would mean that county games increase from the current 14 to 17, plus a couple of minor counties to take it up to 19, and then add in 3 way test competition, which presumably would be around 4 games, so 23 ...

I don't pay much attention to the mercenary 100 competition either. Sure it has its entertainment value, but what damage is it doing to the conventional game? I've got plenty to despair about as a Kent supporter, but above all else I lament that the season is now a piecemeal mix of different competi...

Sad to see Tom Lehrer go but he lived to a fine age. Happily he didn't live out his brilliant 1960s cold war satirical song "We will all go together when we go". Let's hope it stays that way... Oh, we will all char together when we char And let there be no moaning of the bar Just sing out a Te Deum ...

Straying now but mention of Underwood reminds me that whilst at RAF Valley I turned out for the Station HQ in the CO's Cup 7-a-side against the WRAFs, who had Rory Underwood guesting for them. He was then earning his wings at 4FTS. Of course the WRAFs won the game with plenty to spare!

A bit OT but Soilscape is interesting for understanding the general soil characteristics where you live https://www.landis.org.uk/soilscapes/ If your base soil is poor best put your new topsoil in raised beds. Then enrich it over-winter with well-matured farmyard manure and/or your own compost. I us...

Dion Dublin reckons he should have been sent off. Would probably have ruined a good game but officials can't take that into account. I thought as he was retreating into his area he might get some credit that he thought he was far enough back. The whole issue would be resolved if GKs committing fouls...

Ha, ridiculous red card that. The OG overpromoted ref. I thought the red card was right. There's a fine line between "taking one for the team" and kicking out at an opponent who's past you and away. The location of the ball should have a lot to do with it. If red cards came out for shirt tugs in th...
