Re: How long left for ALK?
2020 takeover was £170m for 84%, valued club at £202m. Financed largely by banks plus bfc's own cash. Since then think owners have increased the 84% to maybe 90% plus. So question is how much would a new buyer need to offer to get a deal, and how much would be 'profit' to ALK after banks and bfc rep...

The £170m was confirmed in the October 4 2021 Offer letter to the small shareholders where a minimum price per share was specified (the actual sum is less than £500 below £170m) - there was the potential for it to be more based on performance but we do not know if that was ever triggered, I suspect...

Re: ALK’s Strategy: Are We Witnessing A Failing Experiment?
The key bit is that the £65 million is part of the £115 million. ALK had to pay the previous directors £X million. They borrowed (in stages) £115 million from the club. The club borrowed £65 million from MSD (and replaced by new loans) so that the club could make up the £115 million it was lending ...

It has been a while since I went through this so I will repeat there was an initial down payment of £10m from ALK, plus £65m from MSD and circa £23m from the club, following that there was another £14m borrowed from the club and that is where some people get £37m from because that was in the July 2...

It could be wrong but I seem to remember there was something to do with the time frames imposed on the borrowing in terms of when it came on stream, ALK's borrowing from the club was staggered - either way the the total borrowed is £114.8m which falls well under the 65% threshold - The Glazer takeo...

Perhaps one day the PL will be expanded a bit from 20 up by letting others apply to enter. And the divisions a bit like the nfl with play-offs and a superbowl type PL final, keeps more clubs in contention for longer and no relegation. Could go to say 36 teams which I think the nfl number.
