54,775 against Huddersfield in 1924. The population of Burnley in 1924 according to the census was approx 103,157. So more than 50% of the population of the town was at the game ? It’s not about getting away, it the distance people with any mobility issues now have consider. Somebody that sits in block 1-3 of the Longside and parks in the CC will now have to add 10-20 minutes onto what should be a 5-10 minute walk Travelators from near the Park View to the End of the Longside.

Padiham won 2-1 away at AFC Blackpool last night in a pre season friendly.

Also won Saturday 4-0 away at Rossendale.

Friendly at home this Saturday against Atherton Colleries, 2pm kick off.

Just seen that Ben Hoskin has signed for Nelson. Seems a bit of a strange one, thought he was still a regular for Padiham? Got injured towards the end of last season and never returned to the match day squad afterwards. Been a cracking player for Padiham, and scored alot of goals for a center half.

Hopefully the Storks can challenge for the league title this season after 2 seasons losing out in the play offs, with no clubs with an unfair financial advantage like Bury thered a few teams in with a chance.

Padiham travel to Longridge Town tomorrow in the Macron cup. A game that was previously abandoned at half time with Padiham 2-0 up.

Also Padiham play Bacup Borough (League below) in the semi final of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy, final at Boltons ground so I believe.
