Re: ARTICLE: Barnes back for more

Never relied on pace, proven at Premier League, great experience to call upon, showed he can still play against Millwall in final game of the season, great guy to have around the place as proven last season.

Re: ARTICLE:Egan-Riley leaves Burnley

I don't understand the height factor being relevant: who plays long balls or plays aerially in the Prem? It's not really part of the game anymore. If he survived in the Championship then I'm sure he'd do that side of the job in the Prem. The real question is his positioning & pace at the top level....

Are there many teams that play with a Dan Burn equivalent up front?

This thread did inspire me to look at the "aerial duels" stats though.

But my favourite was Hountondji. 1 header won, 13 lost.
How many goals did we concede last season? that's the best stat

Re: ARTICLE:Egan-Riley leaves Burnley

To be fair Parker put his faith in Joe Worrall. Other than for a broken foot, CJ may not have had his chance. As for his skill on the ball and his passing range - THB had that and it didn’t help Southampton whatsoever did it? Not just most conceded but also fewest scored. We need a “stopper” and bu...

Re: ARTICLE:Egan-Riley leaves Burnley

Seriously what is everyone going on about?!?! CJ is going to be a huge miss..absolute brilliant player. Why oh why Kompany treat him the way he did only he knows. Quite clearly, an absolute superb footballer as he showed last season. Great on the ball, best passer in the team, aggressive, a bit of a...

Re: Parker to Brentford?

I don’t think he owes us anything. We gave him a job. He gave us promotion. At this point, I’d say we’re even. I do hope he stays, but you could see the appeal of taking over at an established and very well run PL club. Is there such thing as an established premier League club?...especially when it...

Re: A Turf Moor anthem needed- ideas?

Who decided NNN is a Rovers song? We've been singing it from the early 70s (as far as I go back) so not sure how any one knows. It seems unlikely a song containing the word Rover would somehow be turned into Burnley B*stards out of the blue. I mean which seems more likely Rovers fans sitting on a b...

Re: Brownhill

Technically not great in terms of what Cullen does in controlling a game of football and picking up the ball from deep, but arguably, technically, the best finisher/ball striker at the club. A real gift in knowing which positions to take up in the box. Brownhill could have more goals this season if ...

Re: Favourite promotion to the Premier League

2014 is my favourite, completely unexpected. We won promotion at a canter with a wafer-thin squad. Any other year, we would have prob won the league but had to contend with Leicester who won the Prem two years later. We had two of the best players I have arguably seen in my 40 years watching the Cla...

Re: Russell Martin

So just because he was in charge of Southampton, who were always going to struggle to stay up, he can't analyse football?
I get it, being in charge of a team who gets relegated or are on course for relegation means he's never going to get a job at a big European club but......oh hang on!

Re: Can we keep hold of CJ ??

I don't think it would have been possible to predict his growth to be honest. Even Parker said today that CJ was surprised that he turned to him when Joe Worrall was injured. But how he's grabbed his opportunity. Parker also confirmed that his contract is at an end this summer, something one new po...

Re: Can we keep hold of CJ ??

Why are there mentions of a four-year deal? Could his agent have leaked that it's a 4-year deal, ie. 3+option of a further year. I am just guessing. The fact that the club tweeted that it was a 4-year deal and the lack of any news coming from the club would suggest there's no urgency over his contra...

four years according to this

UTC homepage is guided by the club. We have seen it before where the club holds an option on a player without publicising it.
I am just guessing though....it's 3 or 4 years according to which articles you read

3 years contract according to article, but four years according to this official BFC tweet. Maybe it's 3 year with one year option?

Other media outlets have suggested four years
