Re: Lyle Foster
Not sure many of the negative posters were there today to see him. I was and thought he had a decent game. For me one of our better players today with strong running, good holding of the ball and some good lay-offs. His shooting needs to improve but whose does'nt in our team, and he needs to read t...

Re: Lyle Foster
Foster isn't a no 9. He can't finish and doesn't make runs in and around the box. Football isn't a complex game, we will go down again if we don't have a forward who can score goals at this level. We have 7 wingers who are better than him and I would much prefer Brownhill in an attacking/ forward su...

Re: THE SUPER CLARETS vs Lazio ~ Match Thread
I see you're the one giving him low marks today, most others thought he did ok. I get it....you don't like him. I think the consensus on Foster is that he is generally poor as a 9. We had a lot of the ball in the final third yesterday but lacked any real attacking threat. We need a striker who can ...

Re: Cricket field stand
I haven't necessarily got any issues with ALK, as the performances on the pitch have been of a very high standard. It's just bolting a portakabin with a few Christmas tree lights on to the side of the CFS isn't an acceptable short/medium term solution. It doesn't look good when they have just bought...

Re: Cricket field stand
No it's not. We haven't got £88m. I know BFC hasn't got £88 million. ALK have financed Burnley FC and Espanyol through leveraged debt. BFC future profits are being used as leverage. This is at the expense of building a new stand. ALK deem it more profitable to buy another club, rather than build a ...

Re: Cricket field stand
Very unlikely, you have to think, since we had no cash in the first place and no further charges registered. I wasn't referring to cash. As far as I am aware ALK haven't paid for anything in cash, or certainly their own cash. My point was that they have been able to finance, buying another club at ...

Re: Cricket field stand
I don't know how much a new stand would cost. I suspect it's less than the £88 million for Espanyol. Where did ALK get the money to finance that? Is the answer Burnley FC?

Re: Lyle Foster
Foster isn't a Championship level striker. He missed several sitters last season. His finishing and running/positioning in and around the box is generally poor. I can only think of a few Burnley strikers that have been as bad as him over the past 35 years.

Re: A player on a private jet
All that we know is that for whatever reason he can't, or won't play for the club. It was clear from last season that he wouldn't play much, but Pace still signed him. A waste of £15 million plus wages. It would only take a few Tresors to see us back at the bottom of Division 4 with no money. Hopefu...

Re: Foster is a number 9
People comparing Foster to Trafford are conflating 2 separate issues. The latter lacked experience and struggled at EPL level, mainly due to how Kompany set us up and started him for far longer than he should have done. This season's performances are up there with the best 2 keepers we have had in o...

Salech looked dangerous last night. I think he cost Cardiff £3 million. Is it time to start with Barnes up front?

Re: Foster is a number 9
A waste of £10 million. Kompany signed some fantastic players, but his 2 major signings, Foster and Tresor, have been complete flops. We could have bought 3 or 4 top quality Championship players with that £25 million.

Foster isn't a number 9 and that's why Parker doesn't play him there.

Re: Foster
Look at Foster's stats, he's only scored 7 in the 54 league games played. The missed chances at Deepdale isn't down to poor form, it's a lack of quality in front of goal. He isn't a Championship level striker. He's decent on the left wing, but all our other wingers are better than him.
