Clearly more informed than someone who thinks a number 10 and number 8 depend on playing left or right. Bizarre!
Numbers 1-11 signify positions in a football team - have done for over a century.

I think it’s you that’s confused to be fair. Funny this thread, 90% of folk on here think we play with a ‘10’, and did for all of last season, and under Kompany. Perhaps learning some ‘modern terminology’ might help better understand what’s happening on the pitch. Obviously you consider yourself on...

What's the difference between a 'number 8' and a 'number 10'?
They are the exactly the same - except the 8 is a right sided inside forward and a 10 left sided. Both normally play behind a centre forward and inside a winger. Modern punditry has confused the terms.

There’s also this idea that a no.10 is further forward and more attacking than a no.8 - they are just on different sides of the pitch

If we’re very very generous and say VAR has an accuracy of plus or minus 5% then add the amount of time it took to make a decision - then there is clearly considerable room for doubt - so the decision has to be in favour of the attacker.

What is foul in one game isn’t a foul in another - there are too many shades of grey in the rules. We need to move to the European version of VAR where it is only involved for the major decisions.
