And this clarification on how Belvedere Road will be closed: It will be stewarded, so depending why you need to go down will depend on if they let you. Residents and parking for cricket club will be fine. The road will be fully closed from cricket club to harry Potts way for the coaches. Imagine th...

Re: Access for home fans
Yes, the reason we have those high profile bollard things is because of a terrorism risk for a high profile world sports event, which this is. So given the twitchiness the authorities show, I find it staggering they could approve only one exit when fans are surrounded by high walls. For most ground...

Let's say it's 1-1 on Saturday, an afternoon kick off, a close finish so not many leave early. 5 minutes later you've got around 14,000 people leaving via this. It will probably all be fine, it'll certainly take a while though. exit.jpg Is it possible for that gate next to the car to be pushed back...

Re: 8 second rule
If a goalkeeper falls foul of this rule, they are likely wanting to prevent the other team from taking the ball and going for a quick corner. One way to do this is to kick the ball away - would that result in a yellow card for the goalkeeper?

Just a heads up for those who are rooted in the modern world - quite a lot of mobile phones don't get apps. Some people, believe it or not, use a mobile phone for making telephone calls. Though in any case, surely the post that started this discussion about being phone-only for 3 games, was a joke?...

New 8 second rule for goalkeepers
I attended a friendly football fixture this week, and the new 8 second rule for goalkeepers holding on to the ball was in operation. After 3 seconds, the referee started to loudly count down from 5 seconds. My question is.... how will this work in a loud stadium, or was the referee a little over zea...

Played for Burnley, born in Blackburn
Seeing Nathan Peel's name mentioned on another thread prompted me to look at the Wikipedia page about him.
I didn't know he was born in Blackburn.
Are there any other players who played for us, and were born in Blackburn, or vice versa?

International youth tournament this weekend at Gawthorpe
I've got tickets for me and my daughter for Sunday's games.
It will be my first time down at Gawthorpe for many years, so it will be nice to see the facilities down there.
For anyone who went to last year's tournament, do the club do guided tours around the facilities during the event?

Pace etc sit in there so I doubt that. Probably just on its way out like everywhere else. Apparently the cost to replace it all is extortionate.
