The lady who has just retired from the shop, is Cathy the daughter of the previous owner,Ted, who was the son of Joseph Hugill who set up the hairdressing business in 1918.

I do think keeping the Oddies name, was possibly not their best idea, but I hope folks give it time and a chance to establish. What produce I’ve purchased has been acceptable in our house, although I’ve not had any ‘pie’ items yet. I did think they had a good display of cakes on offer though.

This is good news for the town and the staff. The town centre shop on St James St reopens today, I know the Pike Hill shop opens on Tues 24th March, and the Padiham Rd shop on Thurs 26th March.
