Looking to use the wisdom of claretsmad. Almost completed buying a new home in Burnley after many years of renting and there’s bits of work needed to it. Can anyone recommend a decent joiner or handyman that could do things like changing an internal door from inwards opening to outwards opening and ...

I switched to it about 3 or 4 months ago. Sky were putting their prices up again and wanted about £84 pm. I had one box no multi room, entertainment channels with Netflix (already had Netflix and kept the account having left sky) and sky sports. Once I’d cancelled they were offering all sorts of dis...

About time. I’ve been completely out of shares for about three months as they’ve felt too high (got out slightly too early but I prefer to err on the side of caution). I was beginning to think I’d made the wrong decision and they weren’t going to drop. I’m hoping for a sustained decrease then get ba...

Been a few times and always found it to be a very friendly place. It’s a tough one. I can totally sympathise with their situation. It wont be a destination on my list for the foreseeable future. I hope there is a balance they can find where they can take Advantage of tourism but on a more sustainabl...

Thing is we got beat 3-1 at home to a much worse Villa side last time we were in the Prem with all the experience in the world. Fair point. It’s all about opinions. But I’d much prefer a mix of exciting youngsters and raw talent with some experienced heads. Rather than loads of youngsters thrown to...

I understand the sentiment but seriously who from last years squad who have faired better today? They absolutely anhilated us. I think Johann ahead of Benny potentially. Redmond ahead of Koleosho (not last years squad but has lots of experience). Cork or Brownhill in midfield to work with Cullen ra...

The most baffling thing today is the number of fans who don't seem to understand we've played twice this season with a huge number of players to bed in.... and we've played the best team in the world.... and a team with champions league form under their current manager. Actually I've read this boar...

I totally agree Commy. I also think Benny looked poor and didn’t offer enough when we didn’t have the ball. It’s early days and they are developing so I’d like to see the pressure eased on some of the youngsters by having a little balance of youth and experience. I think there’s probably a touch of ...

Villa a very good side. I can’t understand though how we ended up with our only fullback in Roberts effectively playing in midfield for large parts of the second half, while cork and brownhill don’t get a look in. Pleased to see Foster bag one. I think we are being a little too quick to sideline the...

Good luck with it. The non-alcohol beers have really improved lately. I gave up completely and permanently in August after one hangover too many, and too many times having alcohol to try and reduce the stresses of the week. I’ve found since giving up that I can handle the stress of work better. Less...

Some great recommendations so far. The sightseeing pass is great value. The one world centre is amazing. Tick tock diner was good. Pastrami queen did the most amazing pastrami sandwiches. Night court was fascinating too. Sat there at the back of the courtroom with a few reporters while watching new ...

Brilliant. Thank you for your replies. Not heard of JJs so I’ll check that out and the ones in town. Good recommendations for those at fence but for now I’m just looking for walking distance of the town centre.
Much appreciated.

Hi. I’m moving to the edge of Burnley town centre and wondered if there are any recommendations for nice places. I’m looking for two kinds of places:- 1. Somewhere nice to get a decent breakfast. 2. Somewhere I can go on my own in the evening (usually during the week) for a quiet drink where I can s...

Yes. As a protest against the board at the time. Unfortunately as I seem to remember they spun it that it was against the manager and subsequently sacked him. My memory of it may be a little foggy though.

Hearing Sophie's mum speak about this left me shocked and stunned at both the mentality of the perpet...
