Re: Baffling

Thing is we got beat 3-1 at home to a much worse Villa side last time we were in the Prem with all the experience in the world. Fair point. It’s all about opinions. But I’d much prefer a mix of exciting youngsters and raw talent with some experienced heads. Rather than loads of youngsters thrown to...

Re: Baffling

I understand the sentiment but seriously who from last years squad who have faired better today? They absolutely anhilated us. I think Johann ahead of Benny potentially. Redmond ahead of Koleosho (not last years squad but has lots of experience). Cork or Brownhill in midfield to work with Cullen ra...

Re: Baffling

The most baffling thing today is the number of fans who don't seem to understand we've played twice this season with a huge number of players to bed in.... and we've played the best team in the world.... and a team with champions league form under their current manager. Actually I've read this boar...

Re: Clarets v Villa Match Thread

I totally agree Commy. I also think Benny looked poor and didn’t offer enough when we didn’t have the ball. It’s early days and they are developing so I’d like to see the pressure eased on some of the youngsters by having a little balance of youth and experience. I think there’s probably a touch of ...

Re: Clarets v Villa Match Thread

Villa a very good side. I can’t understand though how we ended up with our only fullback in Roberts effectively playing in midfield for large parts of the second half, while cork and brownhill don’t get a look in. Pleased to see Foster bag one. I think we are being a little too quick to sideline the...

Re: This is tough!!

Good luck with it. The non-alcohol beers have really improved lately. I gave up completely and permanently in August after one hangover too many, and too many times having alcohol to try and reduce the stresses of the week. I’ve found since giving up that I can handle the stress of work better. Less...

Also a mention for the tenement museum on the lower east side if you like any history. Told from the perspective of the families who lived there.

Re: NYC sightseeing pass

Some great recommendations so far. The sightseeing pass is great value. The one world centre is amazing. Tick tock diner was good. Pastrami queen did the most amazing pastrami sandwiches. Night court was fascinating too. Sat there at the back of the courtroom with a few reporters while watching new ...

Fulledge Colts all the way! I’ll get you details of the manager and training days etc Thank you. I’d appreciate that. I rang Belvedere the other week and not heard anything. Messaged them earlier on Facebook but don’t know if I’ll hear back. He will be at a very basic level but he wants to learn an...

Teams for lads

Hi. My 12 year old lad has got into footy and would like to join a team/club. Needs to be a basic level and one that will help him develop. Anyone know the best places to try? TIA

Re: Nice pubs/bars and cafés - town centre

Brilliant. Thank you for your replies. Not heard of JJs so I’ll check that out and the ones in town. Good recommendations for those at fence but for now I’m just looking for walking distance of the town centre.

Much appreciated.

Nice pubs/bars and cafés - town centre

Hi. I’m moving to the edge of Burnley town centre and wondered if there are any recommendations for nice places. I’m looking for two kinds of places:- 1. Somewhere nice to get a decent breakfast. 2. Somewhere I can go on my own in the evening (usually during the week) for a quiet drink where I can s...

Try Phoenix archery

Really helpful and they have a wood to shoot in during the summer and a 25m indoor range for the winter months.

The matter here is that somebody is trying to make betting look easy and justify it being the greatest thing in the world, when in reality people are just losing their money 80% of the time, which for some people happens to the point of their lives being ruined from bankruptcy. the majority of post...

My other half works for a Swedish company and says it's pretty relaxed. Relaxed dress code etc and a generally collaborative way of working seeking to gain the consensus of everyone involved before making changes.

Yes. As a protest against the board at the time. Unfortunately as I seem to remember they spun it that it was against the manager and subsequently sacked him. My memory of it may be a little foggy though.

Re: BBC 1 - Murdered for being different.

Talking to Sophie's mum a few weeks ago she said 3 had been convicted. One of the murder and two of a lesser charge (I can't remember the exact charge). The two on the lesser charge are already out. Hearing Sophie's mum speak about this left me shocked and stunned at both the mentality of the perpet...

Well done to all concerned. I've been on CM since the early days (different username) but posted less and less until it just became reading the posts and I've even been doing that less and less too due to how unusable it became.

What a pleasant experience it is reading this message board.
