Could have been a last chance to put him in the shop window before the end of the transfer period. Who knows, either way it's a very bizarre situation.

Good possibility that we are playing along with his 'injury' or 'illness' so that his wages are paid through the insurance company. We don't want him here, and he doesn't want to be here so I guess it works for both parties considering the situation.

I think the Whittaker deal comes down to an image problem, which we have always suffered from as a club. We had the same issue with Jed Wallace a few seasons back, he signed with West Brom instead of us as he felt that they were a better option for him...how wrong he was.
