Re: Onana's assault
But the fact is that anywhere else on the pitch contact without playing the ball is an offence. Catching someone in the head is usually an offence deemed worthy of a straight red. Both were the case yesterday.

Re: Do the board really want concessionary supporters?
All the costs to the club to provide each seat are exactly the same whoever is sitting in the seat. There is no incentive whatsoever to the club to offer concessionary tickets - yet they still do. Many other venues and experiences offer discounts for seniors and children that are only around 5 or 10...

Onana's assault
If a challenge like that had happened anywhere else on the pitch it would have been a straight red. Late challenge, punch to the face, nowhere near getting the ball. We hear about 'double jeopardy' and how the penalty is sufficient punishment, but United stayed with 11 men on the pitch for the remai...

If we are including Welsh then we should include Iberian Brythonic… the Celtic language of the North West England (often misnamed Cumbic). Not sure I've ever met anyone claiming to speak Iberian Brythonic, let alone see road signs written in it or have a whole pub suddenly start talking it when I w...

Me too. Should we form our very own happy clappy club? I quite enjoyed the courage Vinny showed in taking on Manyoo toe to toe, I thought it made for a game that had a bit of everything and I won't need to trim my finger nails for another week. 😆 Glass almost full. 🍺 I always thought, silly of me I...

Re: Assignon
As has previously been mentioned, it doesn't have to be an elbow for it to be red. I think Assignon was lucky. But there does have to be intent to connect with the elbow for it to be a red if there is no contact. If a player only tries to brush off someone holding his shirt AND does not make contac...

Re: Gateshead out of play offs
I suspect some of the Council's refusal came because of EFL requirements for off the pitch buildings, e.g. changing facilities, referee facilities, lighting, police control building, etc., which could necessitate planning consents and may impact on the multi-use purpose of the site.

To be honest, I would rather we NEVER buy another player from them. Don't care how good, or not, they might be.
It would feel bad to be mumbling, "You'll always be a B*******!" to a player playing for us.

Re: O'Shea suspended?
They don't look at the relative skills or speed of the players, that's right. But they certainly do look at the position of the ball. If the forward isn't going to reach the ball, or if he is going to reach the ball but it's by the corner flag, then it isn't (in theory if not in practice!) a goalsc...

Re: O'Shea suspended?
The DOGSO rule isn't about whether the player would score, it looks at the number of defenders between the incident and a direct path to goal, if it is just the keeper then it is a DOGSO and thus worthy of a straight red. It doesn't matter that the keeper would reach the ball 1st, or another defende...

I've allowed mine to auto-renew (Despite the fact that Father Jack has used it at Turf Moor more than I have have).
Living just inside 'softie' country it costs a fortune to get to Turf Moor whilst many away days are within a cheaper drive radius.

Few teams play with a 'specialised' right-back nowadays, you have to be, at the very least, half decent in the attacking portion of the game to make it at the higher levels of football.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 9:24 pmNot doing at all badly, but I'd take Assignon and even Roberts to be ahead of him as specialised RBs

Why couldn’t the payments be split over 12 months like they currently are? If they decided to do 12 payments then they would be sho...
