Re: ARTICLE: Massengo moves to the Bundesliga
Reading an Augsburg newspaper report the other day, they weren't too impressed with his stats. 60 odd profi starts (I think) with several clubs, yet 0 assists and 0 goals. It's Sandro Wagner's first trainer post after his brief spell as Germany's co-trainer, so it will be interesting. His media work...

Re: Clarets abroad
I bumped into a PNE fan from Paderborn at the England Slovenia match during the euros. Naturally he was a former QLR. Arriving in '92, most automatically thought I was a QLR leftover, as they'd just left Alanbrooke bks. Met the odd Claret over the years, mainly visiting troops out and about in town...

Quite interesting reading their English Twitter account. They all seem very taken in and besotted by the 'sympathisch' Kompany. Speaking German and coaching the youngsters (McNally style). He's never worked with 'world class' players before....but played with them apparently. It's all positive at th...

We had this discussion at work the other day. A standing ticket costs €14 (here anyway) which includes the free use of public transport 2 hours before and after the game. You have the choice of standing or sitting, having a beer whilst watching and even smoking a fag (which I hate too). The away gam...

Re: Have you ever done a DNA heritage test?
I'm a Gildert, and it's incredible how many times I get my name 'corrected' to Gilbert. My great grandfather was born a Jelbert in St Just, but on arriving in Burnley with his brothers, they all appear as Gilbert in the censuses thereafter. In Cornwall our surname changes literally with each census...

Did a FTDNA test after finding my Cornish ancestry. The Cornish varients of my surname was a minefield and others encouraged me to to do one. Joined the Gilbert and Cornish projects on FamilyTree which is fascinating. Discovered I'm I1-M253 which is not your normal 'Celtic' dna found amongst other C...

Been stood there many a time whilst Paderborn are thumping someone 5-0 and playing sublime. All becomes irrelevant when Burnley are losing.
Even after 30 years away, it doesn't get any better.

Hi Ashy..hope you are well mate.
Hopefully this time around it will be better managed.
Last time it nearly killed the club. 2 relegations plus a 3rd which didn't happen because 1860 failed their licence. Now after back to back promotions we're back.
Pure madness
