Re: Teams for Brighton
Been saying that re Cork in the Alexander role for a while and agree re Benson, we`re going to need him next season so we need him to feel part of the team as I don`t believe he does at the moment and for me he is still a better attacking option than Larsen but Assignon would have to up his game. I am just waiting for the ref line up if we have a chance of staying up against forest , will be dodgy as heck. Don’t think they’ll need it though they’ve done us in already enough this season.

Re: Referee confirmed for Brighton game
To be fair to Jones, and far be it for me to be fair to him, he gave the goal at Forest but then had England telling him it was a clear deliberate handball before they showed him the still picture. Mee at Leeds, the penalty at Leeds and his lack of improvement since says everything about Jones. Eng...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
If it is working successfully for virtually every other club, and in particular those smaller clubs who are upwardly mobile, is the better question not could Kompany cope with having a line manager, but why are we/he such an outlier that it couldn't work? Even Dyche now reports to a DoF at Everton....

In certain setups it can work extremely well and it's how the game is trending. Ragnick would've been perfect for United in that role but the powers that be didn't like that he wasn't a kiss arse - bloody knew his stuff about player recruitment though. As the game has progressed more detail/time/en...

I don't think that's accurate in terms of the modern role. The modern role us more about establishing the culture of the squad and ensuring managers are selected that fit that culture, and then acting as a point of challenge before players are brought in. It's not a job for a failed manager and it ...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
What does a director of football do? If he is Kompany's boss, then he's just like any other director. If he's not Kompany's boss, then he isn't a director at all. What's the job description? The DOF usually chooses a lot of the players and the manager themselves in some setups. So the team manager ...

The problem would be attracting a better manager in the championship. If we can, change it before the new season. If we can’t find better stay with him for now. I’m ambivalent about him going I thought he had turned a corner admitting he got the keeper wrong four games ago so I gave him credit for that although too late. Were this deep into the season and VK is still making bizarre changes to the side, needs to stop putting square pegs in round holes. Foster at right wing and Berge at centre back the latest ones. Is it not the case that once the ref blew for the free kick that is it? You can not use VAR because VAR is only used for penalties, offsides leading to a goal red cards, and fouls taking place in the active lead up to a goal. Once the ref incorrectly blows for the foul that is the end of that phase...

If VAR were even watching the game should have told the ref you gave an incorrect free kick meaning no goal. I believe thats what the delay was about as they stuffed up again, lucky for them it wasnt in a really big teams game. Most common sense thing would have been to disallow goal due to no foul ...

Nothing VAR could do. The delay would presumably be looking for offside. The problem is that refs are taught to give free kicks essentially whenever a PL player asks for one, unless they are certain there was no foul. If a player falls over, and they aren't sure, they will give the free kick. Absol...

Could do with a full week of just catching crosses in SGP getting jostled by England defenders.
Can only help his development.
But if he is the second best keeper in English football right now we are in trouble should Pickford get injured as he’s not much cop either.
