Been saying that re Cork in the Alexander role for a while and agree re Benson, we`re going to need him next season so we need him to feel part of the team as I don`t believe he does at the moment and for me he is still a better attacking option than Larsen but Assignon would have to up his game. To be fair to Jones, and far be it for me to be fair to him, he gave the goal at Forest but then had England telling him it was a clear deliberate handball before they showed him the still picture. If it is working successfully for virtually every other club, and in particular those smaller clubs who are upwardly mobile, is the better question not could Kompany cope with having a line manager, but why are we/he such an outlier that it couldn't work? I don't think that's accurate in terms of the modern role. What does a director of football do? If he is Kompany's boss, then he's just like any other director. If he's not Kompany's boss, then he isn't a director at all. What's the job description? The DOF usually chooses a lot of the players and the manager themselves in some setups. So the team manager ...

Is it not the case that once the ref blew for the free kick that is it? If VAR were even watching the game should have told the ref you gave an incorrect free kick meaning no goal. Nothing VAR could do. The delay would presumably be looking for offside.
