For clarity:

1. A penalty (or indeed a free kick) cannot be given if the ball is not in play. For example, awaiting a throw in, free kick or goal kick etc.
2. A red card can be given at any time, even if the ball is not in play.

It's always been the case.

Loved watching that team.We played lovely flowing football and we got results.Some real class players in there ! This happens at most clubs. As does the players committee, this takes the onus off the manager of bias for or against an individual.

I'd just rather have them put it towards charities instead of themselves. It's not as though they would struggle to afford a Christmas party.
