Make sure there are no sewer pipes near where anyone's planting any tree. The danger of roots breaking the pipes as they grow, could lead to a lot of expense, when sewerage backs up and they've to be dug up and replaced. John Francis came round to my house for a catch up, before he went to the ground. Looking very well and now working in a football role in Ilkley. He was meant to come back after the match, but the police sent him away from the ground, so ended up heading home on the M62.

A reason that Jimmy Robson was not on the photos, maybe because, he had been selected for the FA 11 to play Spurs in the Charity Sheild match at White Hart Lane, as they had done the double. Which was played before the start of the season.

I think the Claretgeorgina original pic is of the pre season 1961 teams squads. Not included are Willie Morgan was still an amateur until October and Dave Merrington, who didn’t turn pro until 1962. Joe Brown had just joined the Club, to become the 3rd/youth team coach at the start of that season

Looking at the Oldham team photo, it includes Alan Shackleton, who played for us mid to late fifties. 2 others are Jimmy Frizzel who went onto manage Oldham for some years and I think Greaves who later managed Bolton.

The information I gave of the date 1962-63 was what I found on the same photo,in a paperback book produced by the Lancs Telegraph. I've a lot of team photos over many years, but I'm unable, as yet to find anything containing the blank players names.
