No. Harwood-Bellis was on the right hand edge of the penalty area (right hand based on standing on the goalline looking out) and there were two blackpool players in the area between Cullen and H-B. We were outnumbered on the right (or Cullen's left since he was facing his own goal). The ball should...

Would love Collins to stay, but we paid £12 for him last year, he has played about 1/3 of a season in the Prem and IF we only got £20m (plus add ons) his value has still nearly doubled in the market. Only 5 players have ever gone to the Prem from the Championship for over £25m https://www.transferma...

We've made Kompany the highest paid manager in the Championship. We wouldn't have done that if we weren't going to back him - if we haven't got certain players, it's because we didn't think they were worth the money. Kompany wouldn't have come if he didn't think he was going to get the people he wan...

A lot will depend on the additional year on Pope's contract. As we've seen with Mane, players in their final year have their value dramatically slashed because the buying club knows they can get them for free 12 months from now. I would hope we get substantially more than £8-10m for him, but if he i...

I think MJ winning the first couple of games caused an issue. Bringing someone else in at that point could have upset what appeared to be a really good 'bounce'. Would be interested to know what the plans had been if we'd have lost the first few games he took over

In some ways, I think the Championship gives us a bit more scope to get a young hungry new manager. We won't be able to attract the same profile as before, but we also won't be laughed at for giving someone their first taste of premier league action.

I think an Academy is incredibly important, but gone are the days when it is expected to produce first team players - especially in the Premier League. Don't have the stats, but I would imagine there are a very small number of truly 'home grown' players playing for their prem clubs.

The window being disappointing does not necessarily equal the board not doing well. You can only buy what is available on the market. We can't suddenly change our whole squad's ability and way of playing in January. No point bringing in a technical small striker, if our whole game plan is built around being direct. Our signings are always going to be 'meh' on the face of it. We are shopping for undervalued, hidden gems, that are being overlooked by everyone else. I think the only reason SD might stay, is if he thinks a better job will become available. Palace would be a real gamble on his side and if it doesn't work out, will harm his stock.
