Re: Centre Back Speculation

Ryan Fredericks, but we are sorted at right back.

Re: Centre Back Speculation

I like Dawson and I think he would make a very good addition to the squad. He is a solid option with a great deal of premiership experience. His set piece talents are a bonus. I still think Engels would be a better fit for us though. Mee showed a lot of improvement in his distribution last season, b...

Re: Centre Back Speculation

A fit Smalling would be a step up from Keane for me. Keane could well keep improving and go beyond Smalling but at this time I would take Smalling any day of the week. I wouldn't be entirely happy if we signed Smalling. Not because of his playing contribution, although it can be sporadic at times, ...

Re: Centre Back Speculation

Kongolo is a left fullback, signed by Monaco to replace Mendy. Nods, and we definitely aren't looking to replace Mee any time soon. Diop has pretty much stated he has no intentions of moving and Sorensen and Jullien have only recently signed contract extensions - so they could be scratched off the l...

I think we should consider playing Heaton up front as a defensive forward or a target man.

Centre Back Speculation

The calendar flips another page and the nerves register a flash of forlorn pain in response. Thoughts flicker and fade and the worried absence of any transfer noise relating to centre backs briefly flickers into focus (even though we are famously tight lipped about transfer dealings). Still we have ...

Re: Bargains abroad.

"Samba" Sam Larsson is the one player on my short list that I would really, really, like to see us add to the squad and Zeneli is a player from the same team that would be a respectable addition if SC Heerenveen don't want to let Sam go. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/238896/Show/Sam-Larsson" on...

Re: ARTICLE: Bardsley linked with Burnley return

I'm ok with the idea of Bardsley. I don't think improving the cover at right back is a primary priority, but it would be beneficial if we could do that in some way. If adding Bardsley is the low cost answer to ticking that box, so we can divert more of our transfer budget towards other targets like ...

Re: is gray on his way?

But - we should be looking for his replacement this summer. I'm not sure that is necessarily a direct replacement as an off-the-shoulder goal-hanger, but it would surely make sense to try and bring in someone who can play more as Ings did - either from wide or behind a target man, as a direct pacey...

Re: is gray on his way?

It's strange how people always look at a situation from one side or choose one side and draw a line in the sand. We want him to stay and commit to the club, but that is asking a lot of him. I dare to say that if the majority of us where in his position instead of watching from the sidelines we would...

Re: Bargains abroad.

You might very well be right about a transfer for Origi. I tried to pick potential signings that would be suitable for us and illustrate a variety scenarios. "Samba" Sam Larsson is the one player on my short list that I would really, really, like to see us add to the squad and Zeneli is a player fro...

Re: Bargains abroad.

First post, so go easy on me. I don't agree with any of KRBFC's suggestions regarding the specific players he used as examples to support his argument. Hernandez is way beyond our salary limits and trying to compete with the likes of Everton for Ramirez or Real Madrid and Barcelona for Ceballos woul...
