Re: Player pictures around Turf Moor
Update: Following discussions yesterday - the plan is now to put these player boards up in three phases, the phases being the three stands. The Bob Lord will go first with the 12 players from the two earliest eras so they will be Jack Yates, Jerry Dawson, Bert Freeman, Tommy Boyle, Bob Kelly, George...

Nothing special about the pics, taken with phone, and I'm sure people living locally will know where they are without looking at the names. I've had a meeting this afternoon in this setting.

Re: Player pictures around Turf Moor
Plan is to start on Harry Potts Way, just past the away fans entrance and move round the three stands right to the end of the Longside Stand close to the players' entrance. They will be placed in chronological order. A number of them have been sponsored by the various supporters clubs.

I think it was obvious something wasn't right given our shortage of midfield players at the time and him not getting a game. He's done well at Napoli though, made 5 sub appearances in Serie A.bartons baggage wrote:The bad attitude was chabola, well that's what i got told.

I got told he had a bad attitude, hence the lack of game time for us. Not what I was told - but Man City took him back once Laws had gone - think the deal had been done with someone at City who was a mate of Laws. Was thinking, a summer without a Guidetti link wouldn't be a summer. We get one every ...

I could be totally wrong, he might add something, I don't know. None of us really do. He just doesn't seem to have 'pulled up many trees' wherever he's been (Feyenoord aside). I would've just preferred someone in the ilk of Blake myself. It as during his time at Feyenoord when the illness hit him a...

Wasn't Guidetti carrying a few extra lbs when he played on loan for us which didn't help his mobility Absolutely not - the opposite, very mobile and lightening quick. I'm pleased to see he's been able to play again in the last two years when it looked very likely that his illness had ended his career

Not having a go at anyone, just pointing out that a vote's a vote.
As for O'Neil & Thomas, I was personally disappointed that O'Neil wasn't selected but I'd have been amazed if Thomas had been.

Joey Barton hadn't been a Burnley player when the voting was done. The cut off was end of 2014/15 and we got the result. You can't go changing things now.

Re: Player pictures around Turf Moor
We didn't want to make the mistake the club have made in the past such as when they launched the Wall of Legends there was no one there pre-1960. It was always intended to reflect the history and that's what it has achieved. I do find it surprising that people haven't heard of some of those selected...

Joe Gallagher should be honoured with a statue with his left leg hewn from finest mahogany. The firs t time I saw Joe Gallagher was when the players arrived for the game against St. Mirren in the Isle of Man. Re: Player pictures around Turf Moor
Yates was our first ever international.
Voting was done last August, there were thousands of Clarets who voted. We all have favourites who are not on the list, and mine is Brian O'Neil, but the vote was done fairly and the names above are the ones who will be placed outside the ground.

The list was published last August - they were the ones who the supporters voted for. That was the easy bit, it's been a lot more difficult progressing that but hopefully the plan will get the go ahead from the club next week.

Player pictures around Turf Moor
You may recall that last August, starting on the day we played Leeds, a vote was held to select the players fans wanted to see on the stand walls around the exterior of Turf Moor. The result of the vote was announced but ten months on, nothing has happened and, out of the blue, I've had an email abo...

Preston away. You could see every Brighton and 'Boro fan going "oh ****, look at how good this lot are when it really, really counts" Do you know, that's absolutely bang on - it was a big game that night and we'd have been under immense pressure had we not won it.
