Re: Your favourite FA Cup tie
Very true - for both goals and, in modern terms, he got the assists on both. The only thing I've been able to find is a pic at the end of the game showing him still carrying his boot. Best Boot.jpg And what was then the building of a new stand in progress in readiness for the 1966 World Cup Finals.

Feel for the keeper there Game of his life and rather than being able to celebrate with his team mates and fans he’s being asked daft questions on how he feels Same at half time. Inane questions when all the manager wants to do is get in to see his players and prepare for a 2nd half leading 1-0. Ma...

Agree wholeheartedly with comments so far. She was very much part of my student days in London in the early 70's. Can I suggest another brilliant track from so many of her recordings and that is 'Nickel Song'. RIP Melanie Safka.

Wouldn't move on Vitinho, think far too much is made of his shortcomings and people forget how young he is because our whole team are kids. Defenders tend to peak later. Well, he's 24, 25 in July. Don't think he fits the category of a 'kid'. However, more importantly, I'm intrigued regarding your c...

No, it isn't. If we are a club next season looking for promotion again why would a mediocre defender suffice as back up? Not self explanatory at all. I would say that is more contradictory.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:13 pmBecause we don’t need a top of the league CB quality as a back up???? I thought was fairly self explanatory

A foul on the goalkeeper. We have to remember, though that the game is being shown for the armchair fan and decisions like that serve to intensify the jeopardy for his/ her entertainment. Watched last 20 mins with no sound. Abysmal from officials and VAR. Booked Coufal when it should have been Souczek which resulted in Coufal getting sent off. Latest trend now seems to be clattering goalkeepers and getting rewarded for it. It's a joke. Even worse right at the end another clear penalt...

I’ll watch again later, but it seemed to me that the defender was always between Foster and the goal, so whilst it was a goalscoring opportunity it wasn’t a clear goalscoring opportunity. Weak, inept officiating on and off the pitch. It just continues to determine the outcome of a football match. As you say it had been a brilliant year for Burnley Football Club. Worthy champions of the old Div. 2, a smooth, successful transition into the highest division and sitting close to the top as the year ended. A classic game of two halves. Conditions dictated which team could 'play' in each half.
