West Brom have just taken out a loan from MSD and said it's not to sign players so obviously needed for running costs. TalkSport ran a feature a few weeks ago on WBA and this came up. Positives: Benson looks great even at this level. Beyer and Maatsen both looked surprisingly comfortable against international forwards. Midfield had a good game. Negatives: A striker has to be a priority on promotion. Thought Harwood was quite poor and Brownhill looked miles off it. Enjoyable game...

Muric 6 - Why did he go and make a challenge on Thomas? He was going nowhere but gave the ref a decision to make? His decision making sometimes does let him down.

It was a factor, sure, but our failure at set pieces and long throws and vulnerability to balls into the full back channels were there from the start and were simply down to personnel. Penalty aside, I think Pope is showing why he's never been considered as an England regular. Great shot stopper but really poor on the ground. Ramsdale should be nailed on for the No.1 spot in the World Cup.
