Re: 24/01/1970.... Chelsea v Burnley FA Cup round 4..
I remember the replay well. The Turf was packed with thousands locked outside. Coates opener was superb but Chelsea kicked seven bells of sh*t out of the Clarets that night and eventually they got the equaliser and finally ground the team down. Nowadays half the Chelsea team would have seen red for ...

Just looking at the Barnfield cam and it's lovely and sunny. It's "white van" day over there so I guess the internals are starting to take shape. It looks a very impressive facility. Does anyone know how much it has cost approximately?

I'm surprised that no one has gone back a bit further for some real value. Frank Casper 30k from Rotherham. Possibly the most skillful player I've ever seen in a Claret shirt. Peter Noble similar amount from Swindon. Colin Waldron another similar amount from Chelsea. Jim Thomson again around the 30k...

You got Gray wrong for sure. I had a sneaky feeling that the guy would learn fast and the power he showed the other night surprised me. He could be some player. I don't mind inverted wingers as long as they have a decent cross with the "wrong foot" and use it occasionally to surprise the full back. ...

Seen a few good ones over the years. Fabregas was awesome for Chelski. Bobby Charlton was pretty good. Colin Bell was too. For me though one of the finest display by an opposition player was by Peter Thompson of Liverpool in a 0-4 pasting at Turf Moor. He ripped us a new one. I think if my memory se...

Lincoln at home for me.
Definitely not away. Last time I was there (Some weird pre-season trophy back in the late 60s early 70s) there was a lot of scrapping before the game.
Not any of the top clubs and certainly not them lot from up the road. Too much hassle.

I think Southampton would be a good choice. It ticks most of the boxes regarding location and also they don't seem to stand in a players way if a good offer comes in.
