Re: Brownhill
I like him, he covered the most ground of everyone on the pitch today and made a couple of vital interventions. Room to improve on the ball though, some poor pass selection today, and I think that's perhaps the issue generally. Instinctive one or two touch game is very good but trying to control the...

Re: Vyds
His hold up play has improved immeasurably since he first started up front for us, where he was regularly easily beaten to ball into feet. Provides us with real mobility and energy up there which definitely means teams find it more difficult to pin us back and we can play higher up the pitch. He des...

Re: The Penalty Incident when Vydra was Fouled
Think the point on strikers leaving a trailing leg is a good one. They've been doing it for seasons and getting pens for it, rightly or wrongly (wrongly in my opinion). Aguero and Vardy in particular springing to mind (Zaha also, but wouldn't call him a striker). The incident looked to me like Saka ...

Re: The Penalty Incident when Vydra was Fouled
It definitely deserved some analysis after the game at least as it was a big moment in the game. Saka didnt get the ball and affected Vydra's ability to get a clean strike.

Both are penalties, under any version of the rules. If both are given and scored, we're a point better off than we are now. But still, lucky Burnley eh? I agree - I think there was more argument for ours v west brom purely because there was no need to have arms that high but almost nothing was said...

Pope 5 - poor for the goal and not a great deal to do otherwise strangely. Lowton 6 - not at the level he has been recently, but ok Tarks 6 - badly at fault on that first goal, questionable decision making on our last 2 goals conceded. Played solid otherwise though and some nice passing but cant mar...

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Arsenal
Great pressing for the goal and we did improve the 5 or 10 minutes beforehand. We are fortunate to be leveled though, more in terms of general control of the game, but Arsenals chances outside the goal have been either from lucky bounces or us giving the ball away under absolutely no pressure. We nee...

He did ok in a very easy game to ref. Not sure how he and the linesman missed the clear could on Vydra. Also Ricardo should have been booked much earlier for dissent following on from.his reactions to decisions not going his way.

Pope 7 - his kicking wasnt great but thought his handling was excellent. Not sure you can point too much blame at him for the goal. Lowton 8 - he is a real outlet in that position when asked to play a little more forward thinking. Some.good distribution and carried on his good form. Tarkowski 6 - th...

Pope 7 - some good saves but thought his anticipation was poor on the first. Did nothing to narrow the angle. Sloppy distribution. At least they took the time to look at it properly.
From the front on view it looked to be a clear edge, side on view was a little more inconclusive. They were only using one angle for decisions yesterday.

Not England's day today it is fair to say. Pope should have caught Kholi without doubt but everyone drops one at some point. Bad timing in this instance though unforutnately. Not sure if it's because I've now got used to VAR but the decisions being made by the 3rd umpires from the footage provided c...

Re: India v England 3rd test Ahmedabad
How the 3rd umpire made that decision that quickly is completely beyond me. The commentator saying that provides conclusive evidence also needs to look up the definition of the word in the dictionary. You cannot definitively say that Stokes hasn't got his right finger under that ball from any of the...

I thought he was very poor in the first half but came out in the second like a new man. He didn't go charging in to anything. He was in front of Lukaku it was straight on his head until he was pushed.
Taylor may have been a little far up the pitch but we should have had a free kick. You can't really legislate for a referee not giving a decision which should have been given.

Lukaku knew he wasn't getting the ball and nudged Mee under it (the ball that is). It was a blatant free kick and has been ever since I've been watching football.
