Re: ARTICLE: Gibson on his way says Pulis

Indeed I did ! What a player he was! He'd be worth a bob or two in today's market

Re: ARTICLE: Gibson on his way says Pulis

CT - We've come a long way, never in my lifetime did I ever expect us to attract these sort of footballers again. The days of O'Neil, Morgan and Ralph are with us again. A great journey for all Clarets.

I think it was Ray Charnley who he saved from. Colin Blant with two as I recall ;)

Re: Cheating Aussie B*$&*@*^s

Is this worse than Mohamed Amir bowling no balls ? Ultimately there is monetary gain. 12 month ban for each player should do the job.

Put an engine on the boats, that should shorten the epic event :D

Re: Legends at The Turf

Good points CFC with regard to Ian Wright, an infectious player. Andy Cole showed glimpses of his undoubted goalscoring talent as well.

Re: Legends at The Turf

Ian Wright for me. In March 1987 I didn't think I'd be watching football at Turf Moor much longer, never mind thinking a former Arsenal and England International would turn out for us.

May '67 7-0 at Sheff Wed and 3-0 Oxford in the Cup 1971 were hard to bear.

Dave Thomas leaving shortly after to QPR, was nearly as bad as Ralphs exit approx eighteen months earlier

Re: Remembering Arthur Bellamy

I remember the hat trick he scored against Orient in 1971, one of our unsung heroes of the 1960's. Never let us down when he played.

Not been too many highlights these last 50 years ! Some ignominious exits though :D Oxford, Wimbledon, Blackpool, Telford ! We were usually out of the thing before the carol singers were round :D
