Re: Stephens
They're going for promotion and looking very likely to succeed in that now, so with the money that brings in I doubt they'll feel they need to sell anyone at this point. They held firm in the summer and their league position will make it likely they'll hold ever firmer this window.

Re: Stephens
I think Brighton have made it pretty clear they're not selling, not for £2.5m or £7m, and this despite the player openly admitting he wanted to leave last summer.

Re: Marney injury
That's fair enough, but in a previous post you did say that it was only a matter of time until Marney broke down. That infers that our medical staff haven't done their job properly, it also is making a wild assumption as to the nature and severity of Marney's injury. It's a little early to speculat...

Leaving aside the usual sarcasm, I'm just pointing out that they've taken a risk with Marney as Dyche himself has told us Marney has on-going nerve damage.Rileybobs wrote:The club should really employ someone to monitor the health and fitness of our players.

Not specifically a sports scientist but I am a neuroscientist - fair to say nerve damage will have affected Marney badly and increased the chances of sustaining muscular/ ligament damage. It sounds like that's happened today.Rileybobs wrote:Glad we've got such highly proficient sport scientists on this board.

He's not been fully fit for a good number of months now, was only a matter of time until he broke down.
With Marney out for what looks like a long period, Barton about to get a ban and Defour's inability to last the 90; another CM has suddenly become vital this window.

Christ I hope you're right, we're long overdue an away result.
Last 3 games we've lost narrowly 2-1 at Spurs, City and Arsenal and have played pretty well on the whole. You'd hope going to the likes of Watford and Hull that those performances can be translated into points.

No he's made the right decision to earn as much money as he can in his short career, and he's no doubt a fantastic player.
But let's not pretend he's all about the game and not the money, because it's obviously not true.

At the beginning of the season possibly not, but now our new players have had time to gel they've formed a team miles better than what we had last time. Re: Move Ben Mee back to left back?
Really tough decisions for Dyche to make now. He's got Keane and Mee who were the bedrock of our 23 game unbeaten run and on the whole have performed very well so far, albeit with Mee making more (noticeable) errors than Keane. He's then got Tarkowski waiting in reserve who's shown himself to be far...

He's probably entitled to feel aggrieved about his lack of action, because judging from the few times we've seen him he's looked absolute quality. Whilst Brady is better than what we have, there's no way he's sufficiently better to warrant double the wage of our next highest earner.
A shame if it's true, because I can't see us reaching a deal and he could have done real well with us.

The players have performed magnificently and we're sat in a fantastic league position so we must take advantage of that and use it to attract players who'll improve us. Brady is in that category and I hope we get him.

He's a Champions League defender no doubt - has everything you'd want in a modern day centre-half.
Romeu was very good in the first half but we got much more joy around him in the second, but I agree he should have walked for two blatant yellow case offences.
