Re: Stephens

They're going for promotion and looking very likely to succeed in that now, so with the money that brings in I doubt they'll feel they need to sell anyone at this point. They held firm in the summer and their league position will make it likely they'll hold ever firmer this window.

I think Brighton have made it pretty clear they're not selling, not for £2.5m or £7m, and this despite the player openly admitting he wanted to leave last summer.

That's fair enough, but in a previous post you did say that it was only a matter of time until Marney broke down. That infers that our medical staff haven't done their job properly, it also is making a wild assumption as to the nature and severity of Marney's injury. It's a little early to speculat...

Leaving aside the usual sarcasm, I'm just pointing out that they've taken a risk with Marney as Dyche himself has told us Marney has on-going nerve damage.

Not specifically a sports scientist but I am a neuroscientist - fair to say nerve damage will have affected Marney badly and increased the chances of sustaining muscular/ ligament damage. It sounds like that's happened today.

He's not been fully fit for a good number of months now, was only a matter of time until he broke down.

With Marney out for what looks like a long period, Barton about to get a ban and Defour's inability to last the 90; another CM has suddenly become vital this window.

Christ I hope you're right, we're long overdue an away result.

Last 3 games we've lost narrowly 2-1 at Spurs, City and Arsenal and have played pretty well on the whole. You'd hope going to the likes of Watford and Hull that those performances can be translated into points.

Really tough decisions for Dyche to make now. He's got Keane and Mee who were the bedrock of our 23 game unbeaten run and on the whole have performed very well so far, albeit with Mee making more (noticeable) errors than Keane. He's then got Tarkowski waiting in reserve who's shown himself to be far...
